Another Panda question
-
Hi all,
Yes, it's another Panda question....
Would Panda effect an entire site or just specific pages. Many people have said that it penalizes entire sites, however, some of the questions that Google is said to have asked Panda testers seem to be page specific.
What's the general consensus??
Thanks

Everything I have seen points to a sitewide dampening effect. A big change with Panda is that poor quality pages on your site can drag down the entire site, which is why some SEOs are advising that you get rid of the low quality or duplicate content. Hubpages tried to get around the sitewide effect by moving pages to a subdomain which Google usually considers separate from the main site.

Pageless/Single Page Design and Migration Questions
Hello, We are starting a content audit and migration to a new CMS. We would like to take content and present more on a pageless/Single Page type design instead of having visitors drill down so many levels to find the content. What should we be aware of from an SEO perspective. Here is Example of current pages and structure: http://www.saintpetershcs.com/GraduateMedicalEducation/PediatricResidency/

Subpages include: Overview, Curriculum, Faculty, Residents, Benefits, How to APply Here is example of what we would like to do:

How to setup a redirect from one subfolder to another to avoid duplicate content.

Schema question
What if an info, like an address, is not visible in my content but I would like Google to know the address through a schema markup like the following sample? Is it ok with Google and their guidelines? , , Here's what Google says from this link https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1093493?hl=en&topic=1724124&ctx=topic though it is quite confusing for me: "In general, Google won't display any content in rich snippets that is not visible to human user. It can be tempting to add all the content relevant for a rich snippet in one place on the page, mark it up, and then hide the entire block of text using techniques like display:none, value-title, css etc. Don't do it! Google will ignore content that isn't visible to human users, so you should mark up the text that visitors will see on your web pages." Is it ok if the content is not visible to users but included in a meta tag? Thanks in advance!

Adding another Question Topic
I am wondering if SEOMoz would consider adding a Question Topic called Webmasters. I see many questions that require answers from webmasters and I have some questions to ask that would require a webmaster to answer. Would it be better to find the answers on another platform? If the question is yes any recommendations on which forums are good for these types of questions?

Tips for Panda-Proofing an Image Gallery
I'm currently working on a website that has a video, image and media gallery with over 9,000 items. The gallery can be found here:
Web Design | | Peter264
http://flyawaysimulation.com/images/16/microsoft-flight-simulator-x/ Every image has a page of its own. Therefore, essentially 9,000 pages of very thin content, especially the image pages with no UGC comments. Does anyone here have any tips to "panda-proof" these pages? The images still need to be indexed. What can we do here? The site also hosts videos, which of course the page the video resides on needs to stay in the index too (like youtube). Example of the video page here: http://flyawaysimulation.com/images/media/9371/fsps-3d-real-cockpit-effect-for-fsx/ Really want to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance!0 -
URL question for SEO...
I'm thinking of creating a new url off an existing url and was wondering if there would be any impact. For example I have the URL www.baseball.com and rather than secure a new url for a new product launch such as www.newbaseballproduct.com I want to do newproduct.baseball.com Will this hurt my SEO rankings for this new site? Basically wanting to figure out if this will hurt me or not? Should I get a new url or re-utilize an existing URL... really for a landing page/micro site, etc.,

Advice regarding Panda
I'd like some feedback on what would be a Panda factor(s) on http://www.duhaime.org The site got hit fairly hard by Panda (60% drop in traffic). Since then we have: redesigned the site (responsive and progressive), reduce the average links/page to ~35 from over 100, Use AJAX to delay the loading of boiler plate and nav elements, Improved the search functionality, Added more content images (still in progress), Removed the citations section to new sub-domain, and 1000's of little code fixes and enhancements The site, by nature of being a legal reference, contains many small, single topic pages. The authority and professionalism of the site demands it doesn't allow much UGC. (The law is not Social Media) Unfortunately, this means the bulk of the page (1000+) are fairly formulaic - to format otherwise would diminish the value to the user. This doesn't hurt many individual pages as shown by the dominance the "Without Prejudice" page enjoys. In particular, the citations section was very limited as there is not very much one can say about the 10,000+ law reports in the world. Recognizing this as valuable to lawyers but a likely "low value" target of Panda, we moved it to a sub domain and requested the old directory was removed from the index. This was done on July 28th. Now... I'd like some opinions on anything else that might be holding the site back. Thank you for you time.
