I'm having a problem implementing facebook sharing
-
Hi. Hopefully someone can help me out here. I have created a quiz on one of my sites that hopefully will be good linkbait. But I'm having some issues with figuring out how to best get users to share this on facebook.
The quiz consists of two pages. The first contains each of the questions. I use jquery to hide and show each question. Then, the second is the results page. The results page has a dynamically generated title and shows a sharable badge depicting their results. So, for one user the results page may say, "I scored 100% on ABC Quiz!" and show a 100% badge. Another user may see, "Apparently I know nothing about ABC! I scored 16% on the quiz!". (Just examples, of course.)
If I use the facebook share button, the url that gets shared is the results page and obviously I don't want knew users ending up on the results page. I tried using a rel canonical on the results page (pointing to the original page) but then the dynamic title doesn't get shared.
Can anyone help?

Hi
Ryan is exactly right about this. Go to the facebook developers page to create the OG meta data. Specify whatever page you want to show up as shared within the OG meta tag.

Have you tried using the Open Graph meta data? It is my understanding the share button pulls information directly from og.
<meta property="og:url" content="http://www.mysite.com/polls/abc-quiz/" />
<meta property="og:title" content="I scored 100% of my ABC Quiz" />

Does anyone know how to identify if a FB post was boosted or not? Does FB or a third party software have that capability? Thanks, Ruben

Same posts on facebook and google+. Is this a problem?
I plan to publish same posts on facebook and google+. As they are in 10 different languages, I would rather not make modifications for facebook and google+ respectively. Do you see any problems with this? Do you think it matters whether I first publish on google+ or first on facebook? Any problem if I publish posts on one social media account which I already published in another social media account for another company of mine some months ago? thanks

Explanation of Facebook referral paths in Google Analytics
In the past month I have seen a huge increase in the visits + conversions from Facebook (which is obviously great). However, from Google Analytics it appears that most of my visits are not coming from my brand page. Is there an explanation of what these referral paths mean? Top Facebook referral paths: / /l.php /home.php /ajax/emu/end.php /brand - much less visits than above URLs

Facebook Page Options
I know that facebook allows you to change your personal profile to a page. But now they have something else and I don't know what it is. It's another option that might be better than a page. This is for a company. Anyone know what I'm looking for? Thanks!

How do website owners gain from facebook scams like this?
I've noticed two things that are going wild on Facebook this week: http://timhortonsgiveaway.me/ and http://promoforipads.net/ In the first scenario, you supposedly just click share and they'll send you a $25 Tim Horton's gift card. (For those who don't know Tim's it is a very popular coffee shop in Canada). There's no way this is happening...they claim to have something like 5000 cards to give away. In the second one they're apparently giving away 1000 ipods. Yeah...OK. So, they're obviously scams that are just trying to get a few zillion facebook shares. But why?

I can't see the new Facebook Insights.
Is anyone else having trouble seeing the new Facebook Insights page? If I click on Insights I get a message at the top that says, "Take me to the new Page Insights" but if I click on it it does nothing. Apparently people are "talking about me" and I can't see the new stats!
