Our site has been up almost 2 months and no rankings yet?

Our site is www.AkinsSeptic.com. We spent a lot of time on the site and have not received any rankings yet.
Can you advise as to what we can do to get this site ranked at all.
I know it needs a lot of SEO work and some links, however, it should rank mildly due to the low competition of keywords we are using.

Ricky, the .net site appears to be penalized, go to google and type in akinsseptic.net - results show for the .com site. Also, if you simply type in akinsseptic in google you get neither site. This is an indication of trademark suppression AKA Google penalty. Your first step would be to unwind the penalty, until the sites are cleaned up you won't get rankings unfortunately.
I definitely believe that domain name age plays a large part in rankings out of the gate. I have heard that it is better to let Google find your site on it's own (from following links on the web) rather then submitting your URL to Google, because if you submit it Google they start the clock from when you submitted it. I have not tested this but since it's possible I never submit new sites to Google URL submit tool.

It ultimately depends on when you submitted your site to Google. The PR you see and the PR Google sees is two different things completely. People tend to game the visible PR we see all the time. Focus on content ,building relevant content, and relevant inbound links. It takes time to work your way up using ethical white hat methods but it pays off in the long run. PR does take a long time though. PR is determined by a lot of things and one of them is the quality of the inbound links to your site. If you're building trash links to your site that's not going to be effective. Quality over quantity.

you have another site listed in Google akinsplumbing.net. This second site is hosted on the same server as the akinsseptic.com and contains similar information. The akinsplumbing.net site is older and has higher DA/PA then the new site, so it will rank and the second site will be viewed as the duplicate. Duplicate content is algorithmically penalized so you can't expect it to rank well at all.

I agree with vitalscom on many topics, but I disagree on the point of taking a year to build up Google's trust. If your site isn't ranking in the top 50 for your home page on a key term, either you are in an ultra-competitive nationwide topic such as "life insurance" or there is a problem which should be investigated. In this case, the problem is your content.
In summary, I would recommend using one site to represent your company. You can combine your DA in one location which offers strong SEO benefits. If you want to offer a second site on the same topic, you are playing a cat and mouse game with Google. You are attempting to hide the fact you are one company with two sites covering the same topic. Google will analyze your content, IP, web design and other factors in an attempt to determine if a relationship exists between the sites.

I agree, while sometimes sites do seem to whiizzz up there quickly, 2 months is hardly long enough time to become worried.
In looking briefly at the the site, on site optimization seems to be lacking for what I would guess to be major key words/phrases
Also, there does not seem to be much going on in terms of links, you may give this some attention.
I also took a look at the area in which you are competing, seems like there is a lot of competition out there.
I would be patient, work on your content and generate some quality strategic alliances in which to foster relevant links.

Brand new sites can sometimes take up to a year before Google trusts it enough for real rankings. But looking at your site, you basically took the same page of content and simply changed many (too many) instances of the location.

I would rewrite each page as much as you can, including the generic "About Akins Plumber & Sewer" footer content, and maybe lower your keyword density so the pages don't look over optimized. Whoa easy there Less is better.

Why rankings dropped from 2 page to 8th page and no penalization?
Dear Sirs, a client of mine for more than 7 years used to have his home page (www.egrecia.es) between 1st and 2nd page in the Google Serps and suddenly went down to 8 page. The keyword in question is "Viajes a Grecia". It has a good link profile as we have built links in good newspapers from Spain, and according to Moz it has a 99% on-page optimization for that keyword, why why why ??? What could I do to solve this? PD: It has more than 20 other keywords in 1st position, so why this one went so far down? Thank you in advance !

Search engine keyword rank - easiest way to check the keywords that rank across website
What is the best keyword ranking tool you have used? I have used various tools by which I am expected to identify and input the keyword I want to track... However, recently I was introduced to Searchmetrics, which I think automatically pulls in the keywords a website ranks for, without the need for manual input from the SEO (I haven't used this tool yet, so apologies if I am incorrect!). Do any other rank trackers work like this? Thanks, Luke

Erratic Rankings Earlier This Month - UK
Can anybody tell me what happened here? http://5lx.co.uk/images/searchconsole2015-12-22 13.37.16.png That is the ranking pattern of my UK site on Google UK for my main keyword. It reached number 1 on 7 December but three or four days later, dropped like a stone. It has been very erratic ever since, slumping as low as the mid-30s. I checked the search console but there were no manual penalties. There is an update signalled on the chart but I can't find any info about it and anyway it seems to have happened after the drop began. I barely touched the site between its top ranking and the slump and certainly didn't do anything to deserve that roller coaster (as far as I know). Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks

Our quilting site was hit by Panda/Penguin...should we start a second "traffic" site?
I built a website for my wife who is a quilter called LearnHowToMakeQuilts.com. However, it has been hit by Panda or Penguin (I’m not quite sure) and am scared to tell her to go ahead and keep building the site up. She really wants to post on her blog on Learnhowtomakequilts.com, but I’m afraid it will be in vain for Google’s search engine. Yahoo and Bing still rank well. I don’t want her to produce good content that will never rank well if the whole site is penalized in some way. I’ve overly optimized in linking strongly to the keywords “how to make a quilt” for our main keyword, mainly to the home page and I think that is one of the main reasons we are incurring some kind of penalty. First main question: From looking at the attached Google Analytics image, does anyone know if it was Panda or Penguin that we were “hit” by? And, what can be done about it? (We originally wanted to build a nice content website, but were lured in by a get rich quick personality to rather make a “squeeze page” for the Home page and force all your people through that page to get to the really good content. Thus, our avenge time on site per person is terrible and Pages per Visit is low at: 1.2. We really want to try to improve it some day. She has a local business website, Customcarequilts.com that did not get hit. Second question: Should we start a second site rather than invest the time in trying to repair the damage from my bad link building and article marketing? We do need to keep the site up and running because it has her online quilting course for beginner quilters to learn how to quilt their first quilt. We host the videos through Amazon S3 and were selling at least one course every other day. But now that the Google drop has hit, we are lucky to sell one quilting course per month. So, if we start a second site we can use that to build as a big content site that we can use to introduce people to learnhowtomakequilts.com that has Martha’s quilting course. So, should we go ahead and start a new fresh site rather than to repair the damage done by my bad over optimizing? (We’ve already picked out a great website name that would work really well with her personal facebook page.) Or, here’s a second option, which is to use her local business website: customcarequilts.com. She created it in 2003 and has had it ever since. It is only PR 1. Would this be an option? Anyway I’m looking for guidance on whether we should pursue repairing the damage and whether we should start a second fresh site or use an existing site to create new content (for getting new quilters to eventually purchase her course). Ranking a site in the USA
I'm UK based and looking at setting up a site to rank in the USA. As I understand it a .com TLD is best but these are used worldwide so do I simply need to set the geotargeting to USA in webmaster tools? Or is there a better domain to use? With hosting the site in US and on page content related to US cities (I plan to create a page for each US city I operate in the the city name in the H1 tag) will that be enough for google to understand that the page should rank in the US version of google. Also how can I view Google USA search results - when I go to google.com it automatically redirects to google.co.uk and I can only change the location on the left hand side to UK cities. Any help much appreciated!

Ranking Ranking Factors!
When you look at the keyword analysis, you see the following ranking criteria: - | Page Authority | Page Linking Root Domains | Domain Authority | Root Domain Linking Root Domains | How do you rank the importance of each of these factors from 1-4? For example, PA, PLRD, RDLRD, DA Please explain. How many of these factors do you normally need to get within top 5?

How would you fix this site?
We're currently in the IA and design phase of rolling out a complete overhaul of our main site. In the meantime I've been doing some SEO triage, but I wanted to start making a longer term plan for SEO during and after the new site goes up. We have a pretty decent domain authority, and some quality backlinks, but we're just getting creamed in the SERPs. And so on to my question: How would you fix this site?
