No Index help

Hi, I have alot of notices about webpages that are apparently blocked by no index robots, I look through the code on the site and cannot see any coding for this and am confused how to fix the problem. Help anyone?

Thanks for your great help Sha!

Hi Steven,
There are two different robot related warnings in your SEOmoz PRO App report. The second one refers to pages or directories blocked by a disallow statement in a robots.txt file.
Next step is to check whether you have a robots.txt file in place for your site and if so, then check to see if there are files or directories disallowed in the file.
If the robots.txt file is not an issue, then the your best course of action is to email the SEOmoz Help team direct - help [at] seomoz.org. Give them the details of your campaign and explain the problem and they will take a look at it for you.
Hope that helps,
Sha

Thanks for you reply! I have looked at the meta tags and there is no meta noindex tag, this is where i am getting confused on how to make the page an indexed one? I would expect to see either of the meta tags you displayed earlier however they are not there? Thanks

Hi Steven,
This message refers to a meta tag which appears in the head statement for the page.
the code looks like this:
OR
This tag tells crawlers not to index the page (or to remove the page from the index if it already appears there) and to either follow or not follow links on the page.
In most cases I would use noindex, follow as this allows any link juice being passed to the page to flow on through the site. The meta noindex tag is the most reliable way to ensure that pages are not indexed since it occurs at the page level. Other methods such as disallowing pages in a robots.txt file can be unreliable as crawlers that come to a page via an external link do not see the disallow statement, so will index the page.
The noindex tags on your pages may have been placed in order to exclude pages that were producing errors or are duplicates of other pages.
Hope that helps,
Sha

Static or Dynamic Home Page? Please Help!
Hi again 🙂 I ask for ur input again my friends I finally decided to go for the shorter .COM domain, and I put my domain online. Since it will be an online games site, every post will be in fact a new game. And of course, every game, will be in fact a post. I put my home page as "latest posts" this way, all my posts are shown in home page, and posts being for me games, all my games appear on my home page. So my home page always has the latest games and is always fresh. The theme I use has the option to ad some "static content" at the end of the posts, on home page, for SEO. I my home page I have also about 300 words of "article" content, that never changes, and is for seo, since my post content, is in fact java script, and other html codes ( flash games). So my home pages is that article plus excerpts of latest post. But the problem is, that I cannot control the seo, on page this way, and I cannot control my keywords very well, or the density of them, since the home page isnt a page. Now the question is, to let my Home page as it is, or change it and set it up as a page. I can put games on pages to, that is not a big problem. What is best, for the future of the site, google ranking, and seo, in ur opinion. I ad that I recived "A" Grade on moz for Page Seo Grade! Thank You!

Google Index Report
Hi, I have just checked my google webmaster tools account and viewed the index status of my website and it produced the attached graph, which show quite a big spike in indexing during July and August 2012. Does this look normal or does it reveal anything peculiar? We did have a new website launched in June 2012 and I re-submitted the sites URL's to google as part of the re-launch and so I am unsure if this may account for the spike. Any advice appreciated. Thanks indexing.png

When to not index
We are working on a brand new site http://www.shedfinders.com/ The site has some login sections i.e. agent profiles for property agents etc, register etc. I figured what is the harm to submit all of these in sitemap and use Yoast to ensure on page is as good as it can be. If a user stumbles across any then they would be redirected back to a a register/login page. Not sure what is best practice? Laura
