Research for "love quotes"

I'm doing some research for the term "love quotes"
I'm trying to understand why following URL is ranking so high
quote-monster.com/category/love-quotes/
it only has one link?
Any advise would be appreciated.

No problem
From what I have heard, there is a period of time where you can get a really good rise in rankings from fast backlinking, which might last 30-90 days. But then it will start to regress if a more natural and diverse backlink portfolio is not developed. I believe they allow this window of time to discourage a competitor sabotaging you with a bunch of bad links. Just my own theory though.

Great, thanks mate. Making sense now
I thought Google would prevent against this sort quick rising?

Yes, check it out, it appears OSE has not caught up. That site has a lot of links and they are all recent, see the few screenshots from Majestic SEO.
So what bootleg is saying below is to use some searches in Google or other tools like Majestic to find the location of the backlinks, until OSE catches up.

I used opensite explorer.

Thanks Dan. I ran a full report and the only metric this site wins on is "mT/mR"
Can you have a quick look at the full report and comment?

Hi Mark
Check out my answer from this previous question. It explains how to use the SERP analysis tool and get data as to why a website ranks where it does.

Where did you find out that it only has one link? The link: operator from Google doesn't return the exact number ... or even a useful number.
But your "research" obviously wasn't too exhaustive, just try to enter the URL on google and it'll return more than one link...

Rel="canonical" What if there is no header??
Hi Everyone! Thanks to moz.com, I just found out that we have a duplicate content issue: mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com/index.php have the same content. I would like to make mywebsite.com the main one because it already has a few links and a better page rank. I know how to do a 301 redirect (already have one for www.mywebsite.com) but I am aware that a 301 redirect for my index file would create a loop issue. I have read the article about redirecting without creating a loop (http://moz.com/blog/apache-redirect-an-index-file-to-your-domain-without-looping) but quite frankly I don't even have a clue what he's trying to tell me (e.g. "Create an apache DirectoryIndex directive for your document root." What????!)… So I figured a rel="canonical" tag for my index file would be easier and fix the problem, too (right??) In every "How to" description they always say you have to put the rel="canonical" tag in the header of your duplicate content file. But: My index.php has no header (or nothing that looks like a header to me)! This is what it looks like: foreach($_GET as $key => $value)

{
$$key = $value;
}
foreach($_POST as $key => $value)
{
$$key = $value;
}
$page_title="my title";
$page_description="my description";
$page_keywords="keywords";
//echo $link;
//exit;
if (!isset($link)):
$page_content="homepage.php";
else:
if ($link=="services"):
$page_content="services.php";
$page_title=" my title for services page";
$page_description="description for services.";
endif;
… ect. for the other pages So where do I put the rel=canonical tag? Or is there another solution for the whole problem? Like delete the whole index file (lol) Thanks in advance for any answers!0 -

My site has a "Reported Web Forgery!" warning
When I check my bing cached page it comes up with a "Reported Web Forgery!" warning. I've looked at google web tools and no malware has been detected. I do have another site that has a very similar web address jaaronwoodcountertops.com and jaaron-wood-countertops.com. Could that be why? How do I go about letting bing and or firefox know this is not a forgery site?

Meta tag "noindex,nofollow" by accident
Hi, 3 weeks ago I wanted to release a new website (made in WordPress), so I neatly created 301 redirects for all files and folders of my old html website and transferred the WordPress site into the index folder. Job well done I thought, but after a few days, my site suddenly disappeared from google. I read in other Q&A's that this could happen so I waited a little longer till I finally saw today that there was a meta robots added on every page with "noindex, nofollow". For some reason, the WordPress setting "I want to forbid search engines, but allow normal visitors to my website" was selected, although I never even opened that section called "Privacy". So my question is, will this have a negative impact on my pagerank afterwards? Thanks, Sven

"/" at the end of a URL
I just noticed that I have the exact same page showing up separately in my Google Analytics reports. One has a "/" at the end and the other does not. Otherwise, these are the exact same URL's. Is this something I need to be aware of from a duplicate content perspective? If so, how do I go about fixing this? I thought the SE's would automatically see that a URL with a "/" at the end is the same as one without, but if that is the case, why is it showing up in my reports as two separate pages?
