Does daily changing of price information in a title tag damage SEO?
-
Hi
I'm thinking about changing the title tag for all my pages daily, updating it with the most current price information. (As I think this could improve CTR) All the other keywords in the title tag would remain the same however.
Does anyone think this is likely to cause a problem with regards to ranking in Google and other search engines?
Thanks for any / all replies!
Cheers

agree with EGOL and irvingw. even if google crawls your pages near daily, having pricing information that changes constantly in a title tag is not best practices. Depending on what you're selling, you could draw inspiration from some of the larger E-commerce sites in terms of best practices for title tags on product pages.

On a sort of related note I used to produce a weekly report for an event in our city. I would change the title tag each week to say, "xyz event in Anycity for sept 24-25". I don't think the regular change to the title tag hurt the serps at all.
But, as others have said, you don't know when Google will update the index, so if you change the price from $10 to $12, but the index still says $10, then you'll have unhappy customers. So, I would personally not change prices in my title tag.
One thing you could consider perhaps is this, "Green Widgets, only $10 until Sep 24".

Thanks for the reply.
As prices change frequently, but do not change in value by huge amounts, how about using a title which uses a phrase such as
'From Around £X etc....... '

I agree with irvingw.....
....and I also have a personal hypothesis that google will not value your pages as highly if you are making frequent changes to your title tags. This isn't anything that I have put to scientific testing... just a personal opinion based upon a limited number of observations that I don't want to repeat for reasons that you might understand.

I am not sure I can be definitive on the ranking benefits. I generally think they are beneficial because the page is changing and updating regularly which could indicate it is more relevant. Again though, I am not really sure on this and most of the articles I found on the subject are a few years old or more.
I mostly wanted to caution you on the user experience of changing prices in the title tag. The main problem I can see with this, is if the price of an item went up but Google still showed an older lower price. You may get a disappointed customer if they expect one price they see in Google but find a higher one on the page once clicked. They may think you are doing the old "bait & switch".

I wouldn't do that because Google is not going to update your title tag every day like clockwork so if you're thinking the title tag will line up with the pricing on the page that won't happen - the daily price on your page will be one thing and the title tag will be a price from a few days ago. It could be construed as misleading because the user will see one price in the title tag, click on it and see a different price on the page.

How does changing sitemaps affect SEO
Hi all, I have a question regarding changing the size of my sitemaps. Currently I generate sitemaps in batches of 50k. A situation has come up where I need to change that size to 15k in order to be crawled by one of our licensed services. I haven't been able to find any documentation on whether or not changing the size of my sitemaps(but not the pages included in them) will affect my rankings negatively or my SEO efforts in general. If anyone has any insights or has experienced this with their site please let me know!

Is Schema markup important for SEO?
I have recently come across the Schema markup and have researched what it's all about. Basically in short it helps search engines identify all the elements of the page. Our competitors have this implementated, so is this important for SEO? We have an e commerce store.

Changing menus regularly - will this impact SEO
We are working on an internal project, where the website owner is thinking of making regular changes to one or two items on the top level menu. Assuming they redirect the original pages or navigate to them in other ways, is there any other impact on SEO to changing the menu structure? I assume they'd submit new sitemaps after each change. Many thanks Fiona

Page titles in browser not matching WP page title
I have an issue with a few page titles not matching the title I have In WordPress. I have 2 pages, blog & creative gallery, that show the homepage title, which is causing duplicate title errors. This has been going on for 5 weeks, so its not an a crawl issue. Any ideas what could cause this? To clarify, I have the page title set in WP, and I checked "Disable PSP title format on this page/post:"...but this page is still showing the homepage title. Is there an additional title setting for a page in WP?

How can we fix duplicate title tags like these being reported in GWT?
Hi all, I posted this in the GWT Forum on Monday and still no answers so I will try here. Our URL is http://www.ccisolutions.com
Technical SEO | | danatanseo
We have over 200 pages on our site being flagged by GWT as having
duplicate title tags. The majority of them look similar to this: Title: <a>JBL EON MusicMix 16 | Mixer | CCI Solutions</a> GWT is reporting these URLs to have all the same title:/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod
/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Category
/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Footer
/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Header
/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?origin=..
/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?origin=GoogleBase These are all the same page. There was a time when we used these origin codes, but we stopped using them over a year ago. We also added canonical tags to every page to prevent us from having duplicate content issues. However, these origin codes are
still showing up in GWT. Is there anything we can do to fix this problem. Do we have a technical issue with our site code and the way Google is seeing our dynamic URLs? Any suggestions on how we can fix this problem? The same is true in our report for Meta descriptions. Thanks
you,

My lp is above well know domain names such as: wikia.com , blizzard.com , and also above a keyworded domain name: www.wizardbuilds.com/ Is just because my website is focus in brazilian google( .com.br ) or is because my landing page are better than the others( i don't think so)? Thanks.
