I'm curious what people are paying when they outsource content writing. I'm thinking about outsourcing some writing. I'm looking for the best quality content on the web, nothing medicore or average! What do you guys pay?

sorry EGOL, missed your post somehow. Thanks for the reply

Best on the web?
Your costs could include: content area expert, editor, photographer plus money spent on props and perhaps travel, data acquisition and analysis, graphic artist to illustrate.
A several hundred dollars on the lowest side for something that the author can write off the top of his head and supply photos from his personal collection.... several thousand dollars for something that can be done without much research and travel.... to a boatload of cash for something like a great National Geographic article.

Hi Peter,
In addition to topic (sometimes), what I mean is the nature of the content can affect the costs - for example: press releases, blog posts, landing page / sales copy, website info pages etc.
For a 1,000 word article, we would likely charge around £75 mark.
Thanks
-
That doesn't even make any sense...?
Obviously there is a line between creating mediocre copy yourself and hiring an experienced professional writer that understands human reading behaviour, website usability, targeting different mindsets and implementing the necessary to maximise the potential of said content being found.
Specifically requested was "the best quality".
It's relatively simple to check if content that has been created for you has been copied from elsewhere online (which is what I presume you mean by "duplicate").

Hi Geoff, thanks for the reply. Personal finance, money saving etc.
Oh yes, I'm aware of the cheap ones that produce horrible content, this is not appealing at all. Typically what would you charge for a 1,000 word article?
-
What type of content is it? This could essentially affect the costs.
We provide copywriting / content creation services and for high quality copy, hourly rate would be about £25 or quote can be provided on scale of project. There are hundreds of low end, low quality article writing services of course that are from as little as $5 per 1000 words but as with everything, you get what you pay for...
I appreciate that doesn't directly answer your question but as a provider, though it might be useful to chime in.
-
Nothing. All made by myself = no duplicate. You can't be sure that your content will not be duplicate.

Blog for content
Noob here so be gentle... We have a blog on our homepage that we're using for content/SEO purposes. Does this content rank as highly as it would if it were a simple HTML page as opposed to a blogspot or wordpress from our page? In other words, are we getting as much content cred in this way as we would if blogspot wasn't affiliated? http://greatmats.blogspot.com/

Duplicate listings content
I've been listing our business on various business and wedding directories most of which require a short description of the business. I've written up a "boilerplate" description which is fairly similar to one we have on the site. If I use this content on multiple listings sites will it cause me issues with google seeing it as duplicate content and finding it difficult to decide which pages to rank? Most of these sites are supplier directories so I don't expect people to site search them for our business they are much more likely to browse categories but will it affect organic results for our actual website? Should I be writing a different piece of copy for each listing which requires a company description to avoid any issues?

Is framed content on another domain duplicate content?
I've read a number of articles and am getting opposing answers. I've been checking pages of Photo.net in copyscape for duplicate content. I'm finding a number of domains have the site iframed onto them. I was wondering why copyscape could read the content if the search engines supposedly didn't crawl iframes. Copyscape said Google can read the content. I just want to know if these sites need to remove the iframe (is it hurting Photo.net)? Thanks. Examples: http://www.copyscape.com/?q=http%3A%2F%2Fphoto.net%2Freviews%2F
