Rel=author rel=me
-
I am an e-commerce website with a blog, creating content on my website but also guest posting for others. I also have a Google + page.
Do i need to do the rel=author rel=me? does it benefit me?
I am confused on how it works, can someone outline the basics please? i gather i put rel=me in the page that is about me and author on the blog posts i do/gues posts?
Any help much appreciated.

Hi there, thanks for that. How do i connect my individual profile to the company profile on google+?
-
Here is what you will need to do:
a) setup a g+ profile for your individual account
b) Connect that across to your company g+ profile
c) on the individual g+ profile, update the contributor to section to redirect to your blog's root domain
d) From the individual posts, rel=me to the g+ profile URL

I am sorry i just am so confused. Ok i have no author page, i have a blog section and a google + profile. WHat do i do simply?
I noticed on my Google+ page for the business page i do not have a ;contributor' section. Meaning an individual has to do this?
-
Author page is not a necessity. You can use rel=me from individual blog posts as well. Rel=me will connect with your g+ profile.
You are already doing a rel=me to the root domain by using the 'Contributor To' section of your g+. It works behind the scenes.
Now, you need to claim the content by using rel=me at the individual blog post level or at the level of an author page that will in turn get connected with the rel=author tag.
It sounds confusing, but it isn't actually.
Thanks,

So you have to have an author page for this to work, i cannot make rel=me go to just the root blog directory?
-
Here is what you need to do:
a) Create a g+ profile
b) in the 'contributor to' section, link out to the blog for which you write.
c) on the blog post, add a rel=me tag and point back to the g+ profile or, setup an author page on the blog. From the author page, use a rel=me tag and link back to your g+ profile. If you were to setup an author page, each post on your blog will need to link to the author page using rel=author tag.
Cheers,
Rajesh Dhawan

Rel Publisher Tag is showing in SERPS, with Rel Author Picture
Hi, This is occurring on a few of my pages on a website I manage. Our homepage, which only has the correct rel publisher code to our brand Google+ page, just started this weekend showing with Rel Author rich snippet. Also, a test with Google's rich snippet testing tool shows the correct Brand Page and Logo, not authorship. Only is SERPS does it show incorrectly Has anyone had this happen, and how did you overcome?

Rel publisher code implementation
Hi,We have had Rel=publisher implemented on our Blog for sometime, and in the Rich Snippets for our Brand name i can see data and some of our latest news articles do appear. I am not convinced the Meta tag has been implemented correctly however and would appreciate a second opinion. The code we have is as follows: <div class="<a class="attribute-value">g-plusone</a>" data-href="<a class="attribute-value">https://plus.google.com/116305698538579695036/posts?hl=en-GB</a>" rel="<a class="attribute-value">publisher</a>">div> Looking around its recomended to add this as a link element, and the page we do link to is the comment section not the home page that would end after our company ID. Now i dont know HTML (Something i really need to remedy) but would this be an issue? The Rich snippet testing tool also does not recognise the code on the blog pages.

Leveraging Facebook to Increase Domain Authority
We have a significant following on facebook with over 6,000 fans, but very few "likes" or "shares" of our homepage. Do fans in anyway affect our sites domain authority and what is the best way to leverage our fan base to increase our DA?

Is it wise for employees to be tied to a company's content with rel=author?
We're an e-commerce company that sells consumer goods. We are launching a blog that will have advice, tips, etc. on topics related to our industry. I'd like for us to implement rel=author on the content. If we rel=author the content to an employee, what are the possible repercussions if that employee leaves the company? I know the markup is pretty new and hasn't been widely implemented, but has anyone dealt with this?

Google 'Author' tag question (Guest Blogging)
Hi, It seems like im seeing more and more about the Author tag, its now in Webmaster Tools and Google+. If your guest blogging, is it a good idea to include the Author link back to your Google+ account? If your Google+ account is also connected to your website and Google confirms they can see the connection does the Author links help with ranking when you push them back to the connected Google+ account?

Is it ok to have 'Authors' that write content for multiple sites even if in the same industry?
Hi all, I have a client that has 2 websites (different brands) in the same industry. I have encouraged them to become authors when writing content for each respective website and hook up their Google+ profile to the posts. Is this detrimental for SEO if they are writing for both sites? Or is it in fact a positive thing? Looking forward to your thoughts on this!! Thanks, Elias
