Rel=author rel=me
-
I am an e-commerce website with a blog, creating content on my website but also guest posting for others. I also have a Google + page.
Do i need to do the rel=author rel=me? does it benefit me?
I am confused on how it works, can someone outline the basics please? i gather i put rel=me in the page that is about me and author on the blog posts i do/gues posts?
Any help much appreciated.

Hi there, thanks for that. How do i connect my individual profile to the company profile on google+?
-
Here is what you will need to do:
a) setup a g+ profile for your individual account
b) Connect that across to your company g+ profile
c) on the individual g+ profile, update the contributor to section to redirect to your blog's root domain
d) From the individual posts, rel=me to the g+ profile URL

I am sorry i just am so confused. Ok i have no author page, i have a blog section and a google + profile. WHat do i do simply?
I noticed on my Google+ page for the business page i do not have a ;contributor' section. Meaning an individual has to do this?
-
Author page is not a necessity. You can use rel=me from individual blog posts as well. Rel=me will connect with your g+ profile.
You are already doing a rel=me to the root domain by using the 'Contributor To' section of your g+. It works behind the scenes.
Now, you need to claim the content by using rel=me at the individual blog post level or at the level of an author page that will in turn get connected with the rel=author tag.
It sounds confusing, but it isn't actually.
Thanks,
Rajesh Dhawan -
So you have to have an author page for this to work, i cannot make rel=me go to just the root blog directory?
-
Here is what you need to do:
a) Create a g+ profile
b) in the 'contributor to' section, link out to the blog for which you write.
c) on the blog post, add a rel=me tag and point back to the g+ profile or, setup an author page on the blog. From the author page, use a rel=me tag and link back to your g+ profile. If you were to setup an author page, each post on your blog will need to link to the author page using rel=author tag.
Cheers,
Rajesh Dhawan

Google+ author tags and product descriptions - Can we author tag it to protect it if its custom written?
Hello Google+ experts We run a eCommerce (magento) site with ~140 different products. We manufacture all of our own products and therefore the product descriptions / content is written by us for us, however there are smaller operators that can scrap it, adjust it and use it on similar products. Can we author tag our own custom product descriptions or will goggle not like this? I have read a hand full of blog about author tags v's publisher tags, and most bloggers state that eCommerce product pages should not author tag as content is normally generic product spec information. Our product content is fresh, custom and written by a real author it's similar to a blog post so why can't we tag it to protect it? (The descriptions include a product - Overview / Benefits / Suggested use) If we do Author tag it will Google spank us and damage our SEO or because it fresh and custom advance are SEO?

Author Rich Snippets
We are going through and adding Google schema to our posts. We did the preview and if looked fine, but didn't include the author image. Is it mandatory that the author has a Google Plus account to display their image?

Authorship Implementation - Is it needed to place Rel='Publisher' on every page on eCommerce
Hi, On my eCommerce site I've placed rel='publisher' only on the homepage and rel='author' on all of the article pages. Is that the way to do it? Do I need to add rel='publisher' also on the article pages besides for rel='author'? P.S
Social Media | | BeytzNet
Even though I placed rel='publisher' only on the homepage, when I use Google's test tool (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets) I see my publisher ID also on product category pages (that don't have publisher nor author on them but do have regular +1 buttons). How is that? (bacuase of the +1 button)1 -
How to Benefit from Author Rank if You Have Expert Interviews
We have several interviews with industry experts on our site. How do we get the benefits from Author Rank? If I link to the interviewee's Google Plus profile, will Google recognize that they contributed to the site. Or do I need to get them to add our site to their contributor section on their Google Plus profile to receive any Author Rank benefits? (I know Author Rank is not believed to be affecting rankings yet). Thanks!

Best strategy for Multilanguage Google+ Business Page(s) & rel publisher
Hello! I have many troubles defining a clear Google + strategy. Let's say I have one brand, say "reallycoolbarcelona" (because Barcelona is really cool!), 1 google place in Barcelona, and many websites with local ccTLD to promote the brand in different countries: reallycoolbarcelona.fr, reallycoolbarcelona.es, reallycoolbarcelona.co.uk, reallycoolbarcelona.it, reallycoolbarcelona.de. 1/ Now, how to handle that in Google+?
Social Media | | antoine.brunel
==> Shall I create one single page for all languages in Google+? (But then I cannot transfer Google Place to Google Local +?)
Then I would put the rel publisher of this page on all my websites? ==> Or shall I create one Google + page per language?
Then I would put the rel publisher of each language page on the corresponding website based on the language (french Google + page publisher on the french website only)? 2/ Now how did you manage to create a +SEOMoz page in Google+? By that, I mean a page with a clean url plus.google.com/+SEOMoz (that's so cool!) and not the scary url https://plus.google.com/b/1234567890 Thanks for enlighting my blurred mind about Google + multilingual strategies!0 -

Author Tag on Blogger - What am I Doing Wrong?!
Hi All, I've just taken over handling our company's blog at http://www.cookwareblog.com.au/. We have several writers for this blog so I want to set up separate author tags for each of them. As you can see from the latest post - http://www.cookwareblog.com.au/2012/06/weird-and-wacky-ice-cream-recipes.html - I am the author/publisher. However, I can't seem to link my blogger author profile - http://www.blogger.com/profile/05603194922729243157 - to my Google Plus profile because when you go to my Blogger Profile it automatically redirects to my G+ profile. Also, there is no link directly from my blogger post, it just says "Posted by Brad Russell" (unlike previous posts by the master login for our company, which link to a central author profile page). What am I doing wrong? Today I successfully set up author tags on my Wordpress blog, I just can't seem to get it right on Blogger. Thanks!
