How to Increase +1s for Google plus? Any Ideas ?
-
Anyone who know any good ways to increase the following, +1s on Google plus please share !thanks.
(I know good content will do the trick but what else?)
-
IMO, you can do everything including prayer and not get Google+ action. Most people have no idea what it is.
SEOs and Google employees are the only people who care about Google+
They will abandon it soon. Spend your valuable time on other work.
-
- Make it easy for people to follow or +1. Have it clearly visible on your site. Most people are lazy and won't go out of their way to do so unless it's very easy for them to do so. Use social media widgets, icons etc.
- At the end of any blog posts/important content, remind people to follow you
- Get involved in other people's conversations. Offer your point of view. Make it meaningful, however. Don't just comment for the sake of it.
- Share other people's content and always mention them when sharing their content. They'll be appreciative of your share and often follow back.
- Don't be afraid to follow others. Find people in your niche. Interact. Become part of that community.
Hope this helps!

Hi Vikas_Rana,
As you said, simply sharing awesome content (doesn't have to be restricted to the niche of the business) helps a great lot in increasing the overall following and +1s of the Google+ page.
Other ways:
- help out people out if they ask questions (e.g. a comment on an article)
- Comment on other users' status updates (being funny helps :)!)
-
if you haven't done so, share the G+ page on different social media
-
share interesting posts of others.
Also the following article will be of help:

Good luck!

Just recently we discovered a nice way was to run a competition and then mention that you'll be announcing the winners on Twitter, Facebook and Google+. The competition isn't over yet but I'm hopeful that most the followers that we've accumulated will stick around if we state that first notification of any future competitions will be done via our social networking profiles.
I don't think the prize necessarily has to be elaborate, just enough to get some engagement.

Sharing Blogs on my Personal or Business Google plus Account
Hi i have been using my business G+ account to share my blogs, but have realised that this would have been better using my personal G+ account. Should i now go back through those 50+ blogs and re-share via my personal G+ account eg one every 3 days or should i re-share the G+ business entry? Thanks Ash

Facebook experts, I need help: is this 'strategy' idea legit or nonsense?
Hi guys, I have a friend who works in a large university where each faculty has their own Facebook page. The pages are rarely maintained and experience very poor levels of engagement. The university's main Facebook page has a very large following (195,000+ likes), but again, the engagement is very poor - on average each post gets about 20 likes, 2 comments and 1-2 shares if that. Now, my friend works in one of the faculties and doesn't happen to have a Facebook page (his particular faculty is concentrating their efforts on other areas of inbound marketing). However, the social media manager for the university is insisting my friend’s faculty create a page and contribute to a wider ‘campaign’ being undertaken at the uni - however my friend is not convinced (and neither am I) that the logic behind this campaign makes sense. Here's how the campaign has been described: 1. The main university page (with 195k likes) posts a generic image ('whats happening this week at the uni'), which asks people to ‘look in the comments’ to see what's happening among all the different faculties 2. The faculty pages all at once submit comments on the post about 'what's happening' in their area 3. The faculty pages 'like' the main image post, share it, and like the other comments left by faculties The social media manager says this campaign approach will ensure the main post gets into the feed of the 195k followers (and more) and increase the reach of the other faculties’ pages because of the high level of 'engagement' and 'aggregation' on the post. My friend and I feel this idea is flawed for a number of reasons: 1. Routinely it’s the same people and faculties engaging with the post - so the vast majority of the 195k won't be reached virally anyway 2. The 195k have demonstrated they aren't engaged, due to the poor prior performance of the page – it’s unlikely the posts even make it to their feeds organically 3. The image is generic (it is literally a picture of a building which says 'what’s on this week') and doesn’t entice people to take an action - you can't see the comments as they're collapsed in the feed, so unless users actually are compelled by the image to click into the comments the post is useless 4. The message isn't targeted - a number of random faculties provide comments to the post, so it's very possible what's offered by the faculties isn't relevant to the wider audience. Anyway, I'd really hope someone with a deep understanding of Facebook could help provide some clarity on this campaign proposal. It seems like a flawed methodology which advocates manufacturing engagement and an ineffective use of time and resource. Many thanks

Authorship and Google +
I've got 14 affiliate websites with plenty of original content on each. When I set up Google + last year I of course had the page in my name and then went on to set up separate pages for each site. Actually one page is related to 8 different sites related to golf but broken down by club type. I also have a Wordpress plugin which presents my author bio on my about page for each site. I've filled out all the pertinent information on each Google + page with unique data. OK, when I write a review or blog topic and post it to Google + am I getting the rel = author juice from the sub pages as if I post it to my main profile page? Posting to my Don Bistrow page vs. my golf page?

Google+ for Business
Google+ has thrown a bit of a monkey wrench into my SEO plans. Over the last few weeks, Google+ listings started showing up in the SERPs for my money keywords. The good news is that once we launch our new site, we have a good chance of getting into the Google+ 7 packs. The bad news is that SEO on a national level just got tougher with the local Google+ listings crowding natural listings down the page. Questions: 1. How does Google+ determine who goes into the 7 pack?
Social Media | | CsmBill
2. Is there always a 7 Pack? Can there only be a 4 pack?
3. I see Google+ listings for companies that don't have a Google+ page. How is that possible?
4. Through my keyword research, I have about 20 keywords that are triggering Google+ listings in the SERPs. Some SERPs are only showing 2-4 G+ listings. Is it safe to assume that this is because no one has put those keywords in their Google+ description, and hasn't optimized for those words on their site?0 -
Leveraging Facebook to Increase Domain Authority
We have a significant following on facebook with over 6,000 fans, but very few "likes" or "shares" of our homepage. Do fans in anyway affect our sites domain authority and what is the best way to leverage our fan base to increase our DA?
