Does having mulitste wordpress with same templaes hurt you?
-
Ok seo guys, don't get crazy here I am not trying to build a link wheel or anything black hat that's why I am asking.
I want to create several sites that are within my niche but cannot be on the same site because it just wouldn't make sense. So for the purpose of branding a company can we have multi sites with similar templates or does google not want this.
I am not trying to rank these for the sole purpose of back linking but I want them all on a mulit site so they can have the same buddy press network.
Let me know what you guys think.

We do excactly that. We have a wordpress installation with 50+ niche blogs and another with 5 magazines. It has many advantages, to use the same codebase. And even to use the same theme as we do on:
http://www.naanoo.com
http://www.techboom.de
http://www.stylingqueens.debecause, every step towards better usability, crawlability etc. helps all your sites.
If all you sites are conform with the Google guidelines i don't see any problems doing so. Our experience with it is good.

Thank you for getting back... yeah we are writing original content for each site that was designed and written by me and two of my employees so content will be unique and for the user who is reading it. So no duplicate content on any of these sites at all. This really helps me out, I read somewhere and I am trying to remember that on a multi site you cannot use the same word press theme or Google will slap you. Maybe that's if your doing black hat stuff with your sites. We want to use the same theme simple for branding purposes.
thanks again

It doesn’t matter if you have multiple sites with the same template and infect on the same server! The thing that matters to search engine the most is that you by purpose or by mistake should be involve in to any black or gray hat tactics to get boost in SERPs like, duplicate content, link wheel and many others…

The content is the important part here, it does not matter how many different domains with how many different templates (themes) you want to work with, but it does if you have the same content on many domains!
Google does not care how your site/s look and how many templates you've used.

Extremely slow TTFB (WordPress)
Hi guys. I’m not sure if this is a relevant place to post such question, but I’m really desperate. The TTFB on my website is ridiculously slow no matter what I do. I’m using Apache and the latest version of WordPress on a VPS (NameCheap). 2 CPU Cores 2 GB RAM 40 GB SSD RAID 10 1000 GB/mo Bandwidth GZIP compression is enabled, images are optimized, CSS, JS, HTML optimized, caching enabled (WordPress plugin), CDN is enabled (Cloudflare), PHP updated to the latest version. As I said, no matter what I do, TTFB remains very slow (most of the time the TTFB of my website is between 1.5 - 3 seconds). Google Page-speed Insights score is 86 for mobile and 95 for desktop (with 1.5s TTFB). What do I do about it? Will it affect the rankings of my website? Thank you so much.

Recipe Wordpress Plugin - Structured Data?
We have been using this plugin for years: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ziplist-recipe-plugin/ and it appears that it's causing us serious problems in Google. So we're looking for either a new plugin or possible directions on if we should custom build an option into our site. Ultimately we're looking for the best setup for the Recipes on our site to obtain a Featured Snippet. Thank you!

Structured markup for wordpress
Hello, I am having problems with marking up my WP posts. I used the All-in-One which seems to be the most user-friendly, except when I denote the aspects of the "article" and update, the markup shows up as a box at the bottom of the post (even though the info is in the text). How do I mark these up for Google without having the unseemly box at the bottom? Thanks so much in advance for any help! Btw, I am not altogether comfortable just yet on manual schematic markup (if you have a really basic manual markup that will let me do so across various platforms, I would also appreciate the recommendation). Thanks!

Wordpress vs. home grown directory
I just moved my blog from a wordpress hosted solution to my owner server and am really hopeful that all the SEO ready wordpress pages plus I downloaded Yoast SEO will move my site. I started with 9000 pages being moz indexed with tons of errors eyerywhere, I have almost fixed everything getting ready to do a google index. One question. I have a directory of businesses and events for my local mountain community that is home grown with about 200 pages. see here: http://www.destinationbigbear.com/directory/bigbeardirectory.aspx which has a PA of 21 which is the same as my DA 21 (I know terrible)... Should I migrate these 200 pages with images to wordpress to take advantage of all the nice SEO possibilities? I have staff and it would probably take about $600 bucks to do it. I would only have to put about ten 301's such as http://www.destinationbigbear.com/directory/contentcat.aspx?ParentID=7 would be http://www.destinationbigbear.com/big-bear-restaurants/ Thank you again to all, I am hopeful I can answer some questions in the future for people... I am learning alot! Nick

Using category pages in Wordpress
In our niche we have one main keyword, which represents the entire category. We are using wordpress. I am trying to understand the best URL structure and wonder if the below is a good approach: http://domain.com/keyword This category page will be written to contain an article on the subject. The posts that are put into that category will subsequently appear on this page, below that article. Each of those posts would be targeting a related keyword. e.g. I would write a post which has, as the main target keyword: "MainKeyword training" and another post, which would be targeting "MainKeyword techniques" ... (and so on). Thanks for your advice. Andrew

Instance IDs on "Events" in wordpress causing duplicate content
Hi all I use Yoast SEO on wordpress which does a pretty good job of insertint rel=canonical in to the header of the pages where approproate, including on my event pages. However my crawl diagnostics have highlighted these event pages as duplicate content and titles because of the instance id parameter being added to the URL. When I look at the pages head I see that rel=canonical is as it should be. Please see here for an example: http://solvencyiiwire.com/ai1ec_event/unintended-consequences-basel-ii-and-solvency-ii?instance_id= My question is how come SEOMoz is highlighting these pages as duplicate content and what can I do to remedy this. Is it because ?instance_id= is part of the string on the canonical link? How do I remove this? My client uses the following plugins "All-in-One Event Calendar by Timely" and

Will syndicated content hurt a website's ranking potential?
I work with a number of independent insurance agencies across the United States. All of these agencies have setup their websites through one preferred insurance provider. The websites are customizable to a point, but the content for the entire website is mostly the same. Therefore, literally hundreds of agency sites have essentially the same content. The only thing that changes is a few "wildcards" in the copy where the agency fills in their city, state, services areas, company history, etc. My questions is: will this syndicated content hurt their ranking potential? I've been toying with the idea of further editing the content to make it more unique to an agency, but I would hate to waste a lot of hours doing this if it won't help anything. Would you expect this approach to be beneficial or a waste of time? Thank you for your help!

I was curious when i run an OSE report on certain websites and their name.wordpress.com shows up with a PA of whatever and a DA of 100. But when I created my wordpress site and post on it, it only has a PA and DA of 1. is this because SEOmoz has not indexed it yet? It is a month old. http://shiftinsurance.wordpress.com/ Can anyone help pls?
