What would be the best way to translate my website for international seo?
-
I am planning on creating a multi language website that targets different countries and would like to know what would be the best way to translate my content from English to multiple different languages (French, Spanish, Swedish, Chinese, etc.). I would hire a translator but doing so for all these different languages would be too costly. Using Google translate will leave me with at best a rough translation.
What are my other options? Is there a website that can provide me a better translation? Would Fiver be a better/cheaper alternative?
Thoughts?

To put it simply, the more (decent) content you have, the more opportunites you have to rank for keywords in search.

I want good returns but am having trouble finding a good place to source translators. Any recommendations?

Thanks I'll check out Odesk and see how much it will cost to do a translation.
Would translating a partial part of the website to another language negatively affect the international rankings for it? For example, if I only have 3 pages translated for mywebsite.com/fr when mywebsite.com has 100s of pages would my ranking be lower on the Google France SERP?

My opinion, if you're going to do it, do it properly.
I've had great and affordable results hiring translators on Odesk. Get them to do a sample and have another, or multiple native speakers review it. If you can't afford to translate an entire site, consider just doing a mini version of the site or just core pages in another language.

In my experience I'll go google translate for a fast and cheap start. After the soft launch you can start hiring translators for the best performing websites and when they'll start giving you revenue they'll be paying their translation themselves. I won't rely on low cost services since they won't be providing that quality translations which in these panda days is required, remember that if a user sees grammar errors they'll be more susceptible of bouncing back to serp and this may be negatiely affecting your rankings in the long term too. If you want a good return you'll ahve to spend a bit.

Best strategy for multiple internal links
We have a website that has a whole heap of internal links. After re-structuring the footer links to the main categories we are now looking at the best way to display the internal links from each category (approx 20-50 links from each). At present they are simply listed on the corresponding category page, however this doesnt look great so we want to display them in a way that is user friendly and also seo friendly. Any suggestions and examples appreciated. Thanks in advance.

International SEO issues for multiple sites
We currently have 3 websites: oursite.co.uk oursite.fr oursite.ch We also own Oursite.com, and that URL currently redirects to Oursite.fr. We are considering a complete site redesign and a possible merge of the 3 sites. Assumptions: ** the 3 sites currently receive organic search traffic to varying degrees
Web Design | | darkgreenguy
** Oursite.ch is almost identical to Oursite.fr in terms of the site content
** Our target market is NOT the USA for English-language searches. It is the UK. With a re-design, we see our options as follows: Merge the 3 sites and make Oursite.com the "main site" and then have subfolders as follows: /uk /fr /ch Keep the 3 sites as they are. We see Option 1 as the best in terms of saving time when updating the site, and saving money paid to the site developers (1 site vs 3 sites). We see Option 2 as the best in terms of ability of the site to rank, as well as confidence of searchers when seeing our site in the search results (in other words, a person searching in France would be more likely to buy and/or submit a form on our site if they saw Oursite.fr vs Oursite.com/fr). I guess we're looking for some suggestions/guidance here. Are we missing any big issues? Does anyone have experience with an issue such as this? Thank you in advance...

Do you have an SEO 'plugin' recommendation for SharePoint 2007?
I'm not a programmer and our 200+ person company isn't going to change their CMS just because I asked them nicely. Do you know of any SEO plugin I can use on SharePoint 2007? I just don't want to have to keep going into each of 110 websites time after time.

The ideal SEO e-commerce site
Hi All, I am currently writing a spec for moving our current e-commerce website and it got me thinking from an SEO perspective. We are all usually restrained by the current website set-up / CMS and there are things it can never do despite how hard we push for the changes. If you had the chance to start from a blank canvas (like I do currently) what would be on your wishlist?
