What is the language targeting at Adwords?
-
Hey guyz,
I've used the adwords for the my organic seo keyword research. As you guyz do
And I noticed that I don't really know to what does language targeting do ?
I mean what is the function of it .
I know that when we change the language targeting I mean setting it English from global doesn't change the volume of the search data .
So why is there ? -
This is to target a language specifically. A better explanation of how to utilize this feature is at the link at the bottom of this post. But first, a few snippets:
"your ads can appear for customers who use Google products and third-party websites in the languages that your campaign targets. This helps ensure that your ads will appear on sites that are written in the language of the customers you'd like to reach."
"Let's say you sell coffee beans online, and you want to target Spanish-speaking customers. You set up an AdWords campaign targeted to the Spanish language, with Spanish ads and keywords. As long as your customers' Google interface language settings are set to Spanish, your coffee ads can show when your Spanish language customers search for your keywords."
-
For some terms it will change search volume. For example, a generic term like "casino" will have (or should have) a greater search volume for a "global" search than just an "english" search - because more than 1 language uses the word "casino".
For other terms like "best IT company in London", it's not going to change much, if at all.
-
I believe it is used to target not necessarily search terms in another language, but users who have an interface in another language.

Keyword Cannibalization and Targeting Similar Search Terms
My website is a collection of educational games for children. We are currently in the process of doing all the onsite page optimization for the individual game pages (they currently have no title tags, meta descriptions, H1, etc.) We created several different games to teach each particular skill. For example, there are 4 different games children can play to learn vowels. While offering several different games is good for the user, I am concerned as to how best to target a keyword for each particular game page without creating keyword cannibalization. Being new to SEO, I am not sure how targeting on each page different variations of related terms would affect SEO. For example, if one page were to target the term "vowel games", and another the term "learning the vowels" are these keywords similar enough to cause keyword cannibalization? If yes, would a proper solution be to use a canonical tag and designate one game as the "primary" game page for vowels? Ideally, I realize that the best SEO solution would be to have a landing page created just for "vowel games." Yet we created our landing pages based upon school level (preschool, kindergarten, first grade, etc) thinking of the user experience where a child only has to navigate to a single page to find all of the games for their age range. I greatly appreciate any help in better understanding the best way to avoid any potential problems with cannibalization.

Google Adword Keyword Planner
Previously I always utilsed the Google Adword Keyword Tool to provide traffic estimations in order to assist with my keyword research. I have recently revised these levels of traffic using the new Keyword Planner. Local Traffic results are approximately have fallen approximately 85%, I have anaylsed this over approximately 50 results. I am aware that the new Keyword Planner does not have a local traffic column anymore so I have utilised the location filter. I have the same problem in all my campaigns, in two different countries, please can someone advise why this is and how I can collect accurate keyword data. Kind regards

Why does this keyword have much greater volume in Bing Keyword Research Tool than Google AdWords Keyword Planner?
I'm using the Google AdWords keyword planner and Bing Webmaster Keyword Research tool. For both, I'm trying to get accurate search volume for the exact term "advertising sales". Over the last thirty days, Bing reports a volume of 5,988. Google's average monthly search volume is 880. Given the market share Google has, I would expect a much higher volume, especially when compared to Bing. Can you offer some ideas of why this might be happening?

Scoring with one keyword in two languages
I would like to read your advice on using 1 keyword in two languages for one landing page. Perhaps it's better to use the keyword in two different language sites, or what do you advise?

How Many Keywords Should You Target Per Page?
What do you think is the most appropriate/efficient amount of keywords to target per page for a website? Obviously, it may depend on the type/size of the site, but I've noticed different results with different clients. Early on, I targeted way too many keywords per page, then scaled them back as I learned more. I'm almost starting to think that you should just target 1-2 keywords per page to be efficient and more natural. Thoughts?
