I found out how you can lose social authority (and maybe more) on your website.
If you will read this post with 100% attention you will like it:
1. You need a ?utm_source
2. You need a full page cache add-on like Lesti_FpcResult ? Incredible.
If you enter mywebsite.com/product1 and you like the page you give social authority to right page.
If you enter mywebsite.com/product1?utm_source.... and you like the page you give social authority to ?utm_source....
Well, most of us did not see that, cause facebook ads like page work good even you use a ?utm_source....
But if you use a full page cache, you have the chance that you index (cache) the page of product with ?utm_sourceThat why, i write there: How i can lose likes from Facebook on a category page. Mystery solved. Anyway i found out a way to explain the Facebook button to write on correct page and not on ?utm_source page and i removed the full page cache at the moment.
If you do not believe me you can check your self here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/
Like your page without ?utm_source and like it with ?utm_sourceWith respect,

I've done Facebook ad campaigns and can definitely say that the likes don't go away when you turn them off.
You might try searching on the FB help community. You might be able to find someone having the same problem. (That's where I've been able to solve most of my FB problems.) There have definitely been times when FB's own reporting got screwed up, so it can be a check for that too.

Hey Erica, thank you for reply, and i am glad to hear answer from you. I usually read your posts on Moz.
But unfortunately , I have to contradict you. When we talk about a great number of likes , we can not put into account the possibility of mass unsubscribe or unlike/dislike. Chance for this to happen is too low. Even in a political showbiz likes will not acquire 0 (zero).
Somehow, not knowing how they(the likes) appeared again. You can check it here.
I have a bar in style of hellobar.com , and i can say mine is upgraded :))
We can leave this like a mystery, but in fact i have some theory about it. I think somehow they have great connection with paid campaigns on Facebook. Maybe someone who really care about SEM, can confirm that. If a campaign stop, likes gone away ?

You can definitely lose likes a couple ways: users can unlike it OR people who liked it have deleted or otherwise had their profile deleted by Facebook itself. It's so few that it's likely some user cleanup on Facebook's end. I wouldn't sweat it.

Improving the reach on facebook
I guess a lot of people have this problem... And it really sucks, especially when you generate your money from adsense. So I have the site that has a lot food recipes in Lithuanian. Mostly indexed pretty good by Google. But still a lot of older women come from facebook and click on ads. (woohoo for them). So far I have 50000+ fans. Third biggest food recipe community in Lithuania on facebook, all fans came themselves, never bought them, never cheated somehow.

The biggest community don't get any reach at all - like 1 or 2 likes on every post. They got everything by cheating, sending spam and so on. OK who cares about them anyway? So the problem is that my reach started dropping. My posts reach only 2000-5000 fans and it is not enough for me. I tried to post time when I post and so on - does not really help. I make like 2-5 posts per day with new recipes or very very old recipes (like posts that were not posted for 2 years to remind that they exist). Sometimes I say post something and write "if you like chicken click Like" or if you like fish share with your friends. It helps a lot - people really click on those more and the reach increases. But if I would start asking for these likes every single time three or five times a day, it would look f*cking stupid. So I need all your tips or links to great articles that would help me if that is possible. Thanks 😉0 -
Where do the Facebook star ratings come from?
I have a client whose FB page has a 5 star rating (apparently from 5 reviews) but I have no clue from where they are aggregated? I tried Google-ing for answers with no luck! Any idea? Can Hootsuite Really Monitor Competition Activity Across the Facebook, Linked & Twitter?
I'm going round and round in circles with this one as everytime I ask Hootsuite they tell me the same thing and it does not work so here we go... I want to monitor another competitors social media activity. Specifically i want to see if they are active in Facebook, Twitter & Linked in. But am i right in saying you can only monitor social activity of a competitor if you can connect Hootsuite to there social media account via a stream. Put another way imagine Lacoste say - "Right give me a report on what Nike is doing on facebook". Is Hootsuite useless unless you can connect it to Nikes Favebook business page? My misery is best explained by this url - http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/tracking-via-hootsuite-3jpg_zps2fa47469.jpg If Hootsuite has this limitation then whats the point in Hootsuite promoting itself as a socail listening tool when as soon as you want to monitor a competitor you hit the proverbial brick wall. Maybe I'm using the wrong tool & hootsuite is limited or I'm a bit thick & it can be done. Any help welcome, I'm likely to be see jumping out of an office window in a town near you very very soon 😉

Facebook Like on URLs
I have a doubt regarding the facebook LIKES for URLs Case 1: By using a Facebook Like Button (for URL) on my page(s). Here people are coming to my page and giving like directly on my page. Case 2: Here i'm not using any Facebook Like plugins on page, But my page got shared on facebook pages and profiles. And people are giving likes on facebook.com for my shared links. Is this two count as different methods? Explain me please.

Received Tons of Traffic From Facebook..But from where?
I checked my GA account today and noticed that I had a ton of traffic from Facebook to a specific blog article on my site. I tried to look into it, but I can't seem to find exactly where it's coming from. Is there anyway I can figure this out? It's been bugging me all day.

How much power does using keywords on Facebook and Twitter have from an SEO perspective?
Hi all, When we add a new Christmas party package onto our website I always tweet about it with a link to the party page, utilizing a tweet such as : "New Manchester Christmas parties", followed by the link. How much power (if any) does utilizing the key phrase Manchester Christmas parties have on SEO for that page? Bearing in mind the link is shortened and doesn't mention the keywords anywhere in it, they are only present in the tweet itself. Similarly, on our company Facebook page I always post a link with a title such as "check out our new Manchester Christmas parties". Does this have much SEO benefit for the page I'm directing the link to? Many thanks!!
