How to trigger a pageview using Google Analytics API upon form submission
-
I need to set up a goal using the G A API to trigger a pageview when someone submits a lead on my site. There's no "thank you"page currently. How do I go about it? There's no "thank you"page currently. How do I go about it? I have never used the API but am very familiar with analytics. Thanks!

OK, and where do i place the Javascript snippet? On a specific page on the site? Sorry, and Thank you, I am just a simple marketer
-
You would trigger this with JS at the time that your form is successfully submitted.
-
Thanks Martijn, where do I place the javascript unless I use the API?
-
Well using their API seems a bit to much overkill. But what you could do is a virtual pageview via JavaScript. Instead of doing the normal: ga('send', pageview'); you can do: ga('send', 'pageview', '/goal-thank-you'); then that url structure can be used in the settings of a goal in GA.

Whats 'Other' in Google Analytics (in Acquisition)
When i look in GA under Channels (under Acquisition) 'other' is listed What is 'other' ? I have been told its other unidentified channels as they did not allow 3rd party cookies or surfers were in anonymous/private mode. Other is usually organic traffic that couldn't be identified for the aformentioned reasons. This data is encrypted and available but it violates Google guidelines as they are not allowed to pass personal info//data to third parties so it is automatically filtered. But they are not 'Not Provided' (since that still shows under organic) but is usually/mainly some form of organic visits. Hence Seo can take credit for much of that traffic, is this correct ? Many Thanks

Google Analytics & Omniture Discrepancies
I am seeing a significant difference between my traffic numbers in Google Analytics and Omniture (Omniture has significantly more). I do not expect them to report exactly the same numbers but these are just too far off. Any idea why that is, or which one I should trust more? Thanks!

Google Analytics traffic hijacking?
Ran into something interesting a week ago - the same Google Analytics code was installed on two different sites by accident. The account was reporting traffic from both domains. Haven't found a definitive answer on how to stop this yet if it were to be used maliciously?

Google Analytics bug?
Hi, I'm getting hits to this page, it's screwing up my Google Analytics stats. I know it's related with Google Website Optimizer, cuz it correlates with the tests I ran at the same dates. I'm just wondering if you've seen this before and what I should do to clean my stats? And is this affecting my SEO? Because it's still registering hits to these pages but I already stopped the tests a while go. Should I disallow this in my robots.txt file? Thanks! ga_bug3.jpg

Looking for a solid educational piece for continuing education for our staff on Google analytics.
Particularly, the updates that have been made in the last few months with the new interface. Any suggestions? Book and course are of interest.
