Many New Urls at once
-
Hi,
I have about 5,000 new URLs to publish.
For SEO/Google - Should I publish them gradually, or all at once is fine?
*By the way - all these URLs were already indexed in the past, but then redirected.
Cheers,
-
Thanks Egol,
I guess our best bet on showing unavailable products would be to focus on related products.

Matt Cutts did a video in March 2014 that talks about this type of situation.

Hi Egol,
Thanks your for your reply.
I was afraid that publishing many pages at once might be penalize somehow by Google, and also I understand Google prefers to have new content published regularly. But if it's of no use - can publish at once.
These pages were redirected because they were a product page, and the product was not available anymore. Instead of redirecting, now we will begin to just add a message saying "This product is not available at the time". Might be more SEO-friendly...
Cheers,
-
If these pages have good and substantive content then toss them up immediately. Time is money, get them up there.
If these pages have thin and trivial content then don't publish them until you have something good.
*By the way - all these URLs were already indexed in the past, but then redirected.
Why were they redirected? What makes them bad pages then and good pages today???

Does Google Read URL's if they include a # tag? Re: SEO Value of Clean Url's
An ECWID rep stated in regards to an inquiry about how the ECWID url's are not customizable, that "an important thing is that it doesn't matter what these URLs look like, because search engines don't read anything after that # in URLs. " Example http://www.runningboards4less.com/general-motors#!/Classic-Pro-Series-Extruded-2/p/28043025/category=6593891 Basically all of this: #!/Classic-Pro-Series-Extruded-2/p/28043025/category=6593891 That is a snippet out of a conversation where ECWID said that dirty urls don't matter beyond a hashtag... Is that true? I haven't found any rule that Google or other search engines (Google is really the most important) don't index, read, or place value on the part of the url after a # tag.

Will Canonical tag on parameter URLs remove those URL's from Index, and preserve link juice?
My website has 43,000 pages indexed by Google. Almost all of these pages are URLs that have parameters in them, creating duplicate content. I have external links pointing to those URLs that have parameters in them. If I add the canonical tag to these parameter URLs, will that remove those pages from the Google index, or do I need to do something more to remove those pages from the index? Ex: www.website.com/boats/show/tuna-fishing/?TID=shkfsvdi_dc%ficol (has link pointing here)

New site - when will it rank?
We changed our domain 6 weeks ago as we had a penalty we couldn't shake off... My question is: How long will it take to rank for our keywords. I appreciate this is a difficult questions as there are a lot of factors that will effect our ranking. Do Google wait a period of time before allowing a new site to rank well?

Launching 20 new URLs to branch out from a multi brand website. How do I make sure the rankings stay?
I have a client with a multiple brand website currently. The site has landing pages and directories for each of its 20 brands under one URL. The plan is to build 20 separate brand websites with new domains and have the old content redirect to its corresponding new URL. The problem that I envision is being able to successfully carry all of the existing indexed content over while only using 301 redirects and submitting the new domains to Webmaster tools. Has anyone done this in the past successfully and do you have any recommendations?
