Google Knowledge graph card
-
Hi everyone,
I've got quite a lot of good reviews on Google My Business, but I don't know how to get these to appear on my Knowledge Card. Any ideas for importing these across?
I'd also like to include my social media tags in this card, but the HTML that I've tried to use has added the text to my homepage, whereas I wanted it invisible on the homepage but the social tags to show up in search.
Cheers!

No problem - best of luck with it all

Thanks, Sean. Appreciate the advice!

Hey again,
I would first and foremost check that the script tag is firing on the page/site using Google's structured data testing tool - https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool. Just put in the link of the page where the code snippet exists/fires and this should debug whether or not it has been put in correctly.
Google can be a little picky about branded KG results and it often only shows some of the bigger brands - I would say just be patient and check every now and again? In terms of reviews, if these are associated with your G+, they should appear when your business appears as a knowledge graph or local business result - again, be patient with this as it might take some time.
I would advise using GTM to implement these tags - it's a lot more flexible than amending core page code each time.
All the best,
Sean

Hi Sean,
Thanks for getting back to me and the really useful links! I tried implementing the script tag in html but nothing changed ...maybe the site hadn't been crawled again, but it's probably worth me trying Google Tag Manager.
The reviews are on G+ so, as a Google platform, they should theoretically just migrate over...but they don't. Will the schema.org/review html migrate over this content?
Thanks for your help - very grateful!
Cheers

Hi there!
Google My Business is a great start for getting branded/non branded visibility in search results. With this being said, if you're trying to create visibility for your social media tags by getting them to appear alongside your business knowledge listing, consider implementing 'Organization' mark-up on your website. The code for this can be outputted on the page in a script tag or added as Custom HTML in Google Tag Manager. Please find this below (switch out 'seans business' references for your own website):
Simo Ahava did a great post on this which you can find here - http://www.simoahava.com/analytics/enrich-serp-results-using-gtm/
In terms of reviews, these are often placed by users on the local business result itself or are picked up from external sources such as 'Yelp' or other 3rd parties like 'TrustPilot'. For hosted reviews on your own site, these can be marked up with 'Review' markup to help the process along. The breakdown of how to do this can be found here - https://schema.org/Review
I hope this helps,
Sean

Google My Business right had side block disapeared for a brand search
Hi Just redeveloped my site and went live end of April Since then whenever i do a branded search the GMB 'pack' has always shown on the right hand side whenever i do a branded search but it has disapeared as of the last couple of days. Any ideas why this can happen ? and is it anything to worry about or just a google 'glitch' that should right itself soon? If not any ideas how to fix ? (accounts and website all properly linked) etc When i go to GMB dashboard and click 'View on Search' it does show up as it should, but not when i go to do a google search for the brand name !? How to address reviews that show up in Google but come from a business's own website?
One of my clients has a competitor who has a fairly poor reputation based on reviews on Google and Yelp. But, this competitor allows people to review them on their own website, and their "4.8" rating based on 250+ "reviews" show up in search engine results. I assume they are using schema markup to encourage that. My question is whether there is anything we can do to report this to Google, or otherwise make sure the general public is not fooled by these reviews?

Accessing and Displaying Google Reviews (Url and Structured Data Markup)
Hi, I have a Google+ Page for my business that has 25 Google reviews written by customers, of which I am rather proud that it is an aggregate of 4.9 🙂 I would like to brag more about this on my website and also like it to show up as Structured Data in as many organic results as possible (it shows up on local searches, not a problem). However, I cannot find anything resembling a permanent link to the reviews (other than the about page) on Google... Any clues ? Also, I would like to start including the Google review stars within any other structured data markup that I add to the website (such as a BusinessEvent for example) - But the FAQ's on Google seem to imply that the reviews and aggregates must be on my website and nothing seems to say that I may use the Google reviews or aggregate in my markup. Can anyone point me in the right direction please ?

Have You Influenced Google's "Reviews From Around the Web"?
This seems like a frustration for many who do SEO for local business. The Google Plus aggregation of reviews is vaguely created and out of our control. Or is it? The most I can find about it is at: https://support.google.com/business/answer/3474120?hl=en&ref_topic=6109351 I have clients in the accommodation industry who are reviewed thoroughly on similar sites to one another. Some of these clients have 100+ "Reviews From Around the Web" where as others are stuck at one or two reviews. My thoughts are that the business name, address, and phone details would allow Google to link the review with the local listing. I'm not sure and doubt this is just the case because the low-review listings have consistent NAP details. Have you been able to get reviews aggregating for a local business in their Google Plus?

Google Reviews
We operate a printing company, and at the moment we have two locations in Houston, Texas. Our newest location just opened and so it has no reviews and no real content on Google +. A very satisfied customer seems to have posted two back to back reviews on the second location and it now seems that location no longer pulls up. It used to be that when you googled our business name that both locations pulled up it seems to pull just first more well established location. The second location can still be found but for whatever reason it no longer shows up with our other results. Should we tell the client to remove one of the reviews? I hope we don't get penalized for this Appreciate your feedback. C

Where Google+ Local Gets Listings?
I've seen a lot of business owners mention that their website is on Google+ Local but they say they never added it. Does anyone know which companies Google buys databases from and lists the businesses and unclaimed? And how often do they do this?
