Does using Articlebase articles on your site push your rank down?

Hello All,
I launched a website (www.hrpayrollsystems.net) last year. I'm very new to the SEO world so I'm still seeing what works and what doesn't. We recently republished some articles from articlebase.com that I think may have hurt us in SEO. Does Google see our site as having duplicate content and then penalize us? Our top keyword isn't even ranking anymore when I put it in the sites that tell you where you show up. Help!

These articles can hurt you in two ways.
If you are republishing articles then this creates duplicate content on your site. If you have enough duplicate content you can be flagged with Panda which will cause your site to drop very far in the results like you are seeing.
If you are posting articles on these sites and linking back to yourself with your keyword as anchor text then this can invite Penguin. Looking at your backlink profile, this is not your issue.
I would stay far away from this type of site!
The way to tell if you have been affected by Panda (which is the most likely explanation), is to look at your organic search traffic in Google analytics and see if you have a drop that coincides with a Panda refresh date. If so, then get rid of the duplicate content and by the time the next Panda refresh happens you should recover. The refreshes tend to happen about once a month. Some sites may take a couple of refreshes before they recover.

Yes duplicate content can affect your rankings. It is best to write your own fresh content. Stay away from these article directory/base places.

Hi all, I am in the process of re-structuring my e-commerce website for better SEO and user experience. I have done some keyword research and would like some advice on how best to structure my site around those keywords. Woodsculp Christmas 2023 The next issue I have is that I have products which could fall under several different categories. A product called Elijah Elephant, for example could fall under Woodsculp Elephants, Woodsculp Safari and Woodsculp Summer 2022. In previous e-commerce sites I have never assigned multiple categories to one product (I instead have used tags). Breaking a Big Website into Multiple Unrelated Sites
I have a big cluttered website that I want to simplify. There is content for patients, researchers, therapists who are looking for grants, etc.. Would it be a bad ideas to turn these into 3 or more, completely different sites with each focused on their specific demographic? Or should I just figure out how to organize the one site better? Forum Site: Content Value Post Panda
I run a forum website built on Wordpress. We're about two years old. The theme of the site is a directory of attorneys, with each directory listing having its own blog account on our site. Through this platform, we receive 75-80 blog posts now every month of varying quality from our users. QUESTION: A good number of the blogs published on our site are also published on the attorney's law firm site as well (they're syndicating on our site). Will this hurt our site in light of Panda? A lot of the syndicated content is very well written and insightful. By contrast, Will non-syndicated but average to below average posts hurt our site? The authors almost always link back to their firm site. Would love some feedback on whether we should be happy about the syndicated content or whether we should potentially ban it?
