Do Older Post Dates Affect Click Throughs From Google ?
-
My Blog Entries appear in Google with a date, do those dates matter ?
Will people stay away from an older date, say 2009 ? Is it worth removing the dates ? Or should I update the entry and change published date ?
-
Good Idea re the follow up post, I did read somewhere that you shouldn't target the same keywords from two different pages, I wonder if this is true ? If it is then I still have the original issue of missing traffic on a good post because of the date.
Maybe I update the original and change the published date.

I'd probably keep the one's you've got and do a follow up post. Maybe cover anything that's changed in recent years etc and refer back to the older post whenever necessary.

The topic is finance and I feel that the dates might impact. So I either need to remove the dates or amend to keep fresh where applicable.
-
Also agree that generally someone might click on newer content if there are articles ranging from 2011 to say 2007.
The way I think the date would impact your article's visibility / clickthrough the most is if people use the tools on the left side of Google and search by date. I find myself using the search by date tool frequently generally selecting the past year or 2-3 months when I know an article was recently published.
-
I think it totally depends on the topic. For example, if I see a blog about SEO from 2008 I'll tend to stay away from it as the information may not be entirely accurate anymore. I'll usually sort my results from most recent posts or posts from the past year.
Would this affect your area?

Hello Moz Team, hope everyone is doing well, I have question regarding mine blog post recently that I published: https://mobilemall.pk/blog/definition-of-cuboid-surface-area-volume-basic-properties/ My target keywords in this post are Cuboid Definition, Cuboid Surface Area, Cuboid Volume. I have considered and applied every good SEO practice, like H Tags, gave links to authority sites, featured image, other images, etc but my post is still not appearing in top 3, 5 or even 10 I have covered each and every aspect of the topic, Can anyone let me know what's the reason and any suggestion for me. What are your favorite "reverse guest posting" techniques?
There's plenty of content out there that teaches how to become a guest author on other blogs. However, I'm looking for ideas on how to attract other authors to post on our own blog (www.reviewjump.com/blog). Specifically, we're targeting agencies and marketers to write for us. Admittedly, it's a fairly new blog, but we've done quite a bit of outreach so far, and this hasn't been brought up as a concern. Ironically, we've found that many agencies we've spoken with don't even maintain their own blog. I'm guessing if they don't author their own, why would they spend the effort to write for ours? Anyway, to make it easy for authors to apply, we even created a specific page for it (www.reviewjump.com/guest-author/). And I know that while some sites charge $100's for guest posts, this would be free for our published authors. We are making some headway with our outreach, but I was searching for any helpful ideas you can share on what works for you and your "reverse guest posting" strategies. Thanks in advance!

Could posting on YouMoz get you penalized for "Guest Blogging?"
From my understanding, Matt Cutts hates guest blogging, so I told all of the attorneys here not to write anywhere but on our blog. However, I realized people are constantly "guest blogging' on Moz, and considering how smart these people are, it must not be hurting them or they wouldn't do it. However, what I don't understand is why? Yes, I do get that the quality of what's on YouMoz is high and not spammy, but I got the impression that didn't really matter. Guest blogging would get you into trouble no matter what. Can someone clarify for me? Thanks, Ruben

This article on making money with your site has to be out of date, doesnt it
Came across this article on making money with your site but surely it must be out of date as a number of the recommendations breaks google guidelines. Here is the link to read the full article but below is a breakdown http://bloggerspassion.com/make-money-online-websites/ 1. Paid Blogging with Sponsored Reviews Publishers are able to make money selling paid reviews on their blogs and advertisers are able to create buzz, traffic and backlinks with SponsoredReviews website. My total earnings with this paid review website are $1631.95. You need to have 3 months old blog with 10 quality posts published to get accepted. 2. Make Money Selling Text Link Ads Bloggers are able to make good earnings selling text links and advertisers are able to get lots of high quality backlinks and traffic for their websites. This helps them earn a lot of money from the services and products they are selling on their websites. I’m so far I have been able to earn $7,711 with this website. You need PR 3 plus blogs to get accepted. would be interested in your thoughts on this

Related posts Wordpress plugin
Hi, I was wondering what Wordpress plugin you are using to add related posts to your blog posts. I would need one that allows you to pick the related posts manually and doesn't break the on-page SEO. Thank you! George

Show all VS show excerpt in a blog post
I saw that you recently changed your blog from "show all" to "show an excerpt" and then "read more", could you explain me the reason? It´s not supossed to be better for the blog readers to see the full posts in the homepage?
