Organic Traffic Data
-
Looking at integrating our GA account with the seomoz Organic Traffic Data feature. Can anyone let me know feedback regards this ?
-
Good, glad to have helped

Thanks just the answer I was looking for !

Hi Neil
Would that be feedback on whether or not it's worth doing?
If so, then from my experience with it, yes it helps to have some GA traffic data alongside the rankings, brings more meaning and context to the ranking reports then. The other analytics data within Pro Tools is also handy to have at hand at times.
I still use GA on a regular basis, has so much more information there than just visitor numbers from targeted keywords.
It only takes a minute to setup GA within SEOmoz Pro, is worth doing I've found.
Hope that helps,
Regards
Simon

How to sift "site search" data from Google Analytics for trends
I apologize in advance if this has been asked a million times but I'm just not able to find anything on it for some reason. Probably the words "site" and "search" come up a lot in this area... Anyhow, my question: How do I find trends in "site search" data from Google Analytics? I set up "site search" a long time ago. I have thousands and thousands of searches people have made on my site logged and squirreled away. The plan was to review them on a weekly basis, find the trends and start writing content to address interests people seem to be having but not finding on our site. Sounded great at the time. The problem I have, of course, is that among my 10,000 searches (many shown in Google Analytics as "no-results:cats and dogs", etc), there are slight differences that make it difficult to total up search trends. Let's say the list is like this: Term | Search Count Cats | 500
Moz Pro | | rtkl
Dogs | 500
Cat | 250
Dog | 250
Cat food | 5
Dog food | 5
Birds | 1
Bird | 1
Cats are great | 1
Cats are really great | 1
Dogs are great | 1
I like birds | 1
Seriously, I like Cats | 1
Turtles | 1 ... 10,000 more entries, every single one only 1 search per term. OK, so it looks like people like Cats and Dogs a lot, but also Birds and Turtles. But maybe there are snake searches. Maybe there are "cat pajamas" searches and variations on all of the above. Who knows what else is really trending in there??? The review of this data is MIND-NUMBING. Especially when you get into plurality and misspellings, this rabbit hole has no bottom. Is there a tool people in the SEO jam use to take a big ole CSV dump and have it magically sorted by at least potential trends? I mean, there's gotta be, right? And I'm silly for not already knowing what it is.0 -
Internal Links Data on OSE and poor ranking despite excellent metrics
Hi folks, I use OSE a lot for comparing where we stand against our competitors and I'm always surprised to see most of our competitors have loads more internal links than we do. For example, comparing 'www.kensyard.co.uk' with 'www.sterlingbuild.co.uk', we are better on every Root Domain Metric except for the Total Links metric and this is down to a much smaller number of internal links. They are ranking better than us in Google so I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the way our site is coded / structured that means Google and OSE are not picking up our internal link network properly? We have over nine times as many external root domains linking to our site than theirs, which is surely a far more valuable metric than internal links right? Or is there an issue with our internal link structure that is confusing Google and causing us to rank lower? Many thanks for any advice, Luke

Is there any way to get historical API data?
I'm looking for a way of requesting domain authority and some other stats via the API for several previous months. I noticed on here: http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/what-is-the-mozscape-api

It says "SEOmoz PRO members now have access to historical API linking data - read about this great new feature on our blog!" but i could not find this blog post anywhere and maybe I'm misreading this line anyway.0 -
Organic Competition Assessment Tool Recommendation Please
Hi, What tool do you recommend (and why) for best assessing your organic search competition's keywords AND that includes some kind of reasonably accurate estimate of what organic search traffic they are getting by specific page or keyword? Thanks... Darcy

SEO Yoast data export
Just thought I would give something back. (Is this the right place!) I use Wordpress with the excellent SEO Yoast plugin. I needed a way of extracting the focus keywords that I have entered onto my pages along with the url for use on the SEOmoz On-page Optimisation tool. So I created GetYoastData which outputs to the browser the required data (and a bit more) that can be saved into an csv (Excel) file. Hope you find it useful - Yes it's not polished and yes it might output a blank line now and again but it's fairly useful. http://deanandrews.uk/get-yoast-seo-data/

How do data feeds work in product selection
Hi – I don't know if this is an SEO matter or not, but I have data feeds to Google, Bing and thefind.com for all of my products. I have no idea if these feeds help. My guess is that they do not generate much business. For example if I type in "Brass Bookends" our products usually don't show up until the late pages. Using this as an example does anyone know how these sites select the order in which they display products? Another way to phrase this is what makes thefind.com show a competitor's brass bookends several pages before ours? FYI we have been doing these data feeds for a year on a consistent basis so being new shouldn't be a factor. Any insights will be most appreciated. Thanks. Don. www.uniquegiftsanddecor.com

How Do I Interpret Data From "Competitive Link Finder" Search Results?
Ok, I'm a beginner here. A few basic questions: I ran a "competitive link finder" search. 1. What does "Subdomain mR" mean? 2. What does Subdomain mT mean? 3. What do the scores in each column mean? Example 8.7 under Subdomain mR. 4. How do I interpret this? thanks for your help! Dan Castro
