Is there a good way to get the list of keywords that bring the most traffic to a competing website?
-
Listing your most "popular" keywords is easy when you have an "old" website, but when you start out, it's not always easy.
We obviously have a list of keywords, as well as various versions for each of them, but we have a hard time assessing which ones are the most popular. Also, we may be missing some.
It would be handy to know which keywords are bringing the most traffic to our competitors. Is that even possible?

Thanks a bunch. I'll review each of these links...

Try Ahrefs.com as well.

Another rudimentary website for this purpose would be alexa.com. Only gives you the top 10, but I'm not really sure exactly how reliable it is.

Great resources! Thanks!

There are tools out there that specialize in compiling this kind of data. My personal favorite is SEMRush, but Spy Fu and Keyword Spy also offer similar services.
If you're looking for a free alternative, you could run the keywords you know through the Google AdWords Keyword Tool and look for additional suggested keywords. It's not going to be nearly as informative as an SEMRush report would be, but it's a no cost solution.
Hope this helps!

Hello, i have a question about keywords in Single page website. For how many keywords should i focus in single page website? For example: In my industry are important 2 different keywords - cabinet making and **made to measure furniture. **Should i focus on both keywords or its better to pick better keyword and focus only for that one (of course including different forms of that word and so on). I think I finally feel pretty good about it but I'd like your professional opinions. Is it too keyword rich? Does it flow naturally? Is the voice fresh? Do my SEO titles vary enough? How Can I Rank My One Keyword ?
I read many places about never use the same keywords/anchor text this will consider as spam by google, so i want to know if suppose my main keyword is Indian bridal sarees than how can i give rank to that keyword, should i use the same exact keyword but in different format like bridal indian sarees or indian bridal sarees shopping something like that. Should i use LSI keywords in that keywords. Please help Second, I also read some people saying they use 70% primary keywords and 30% LSI or generic words, so that mean if i have 10 articles so in 7 articles i have to give primary keyword and the rest of the 3 will be generic. Targeting Keywords from the homepage
I tend to focus on two or three main keywords to target from the homepage. In fact come to think of it from all pages. Do you target up to 10 keywords of more from one page. Taking longer tail keywords into consideration. Granted the limits to any phrase or keyword group.
