Premium Real Estate Wordpress Templates and SEO

Has anyone had any experience with premium real estate templates and SEO? Are their reviews in this regard? How does one get past the marketing and find out if they are SEO friendly?

No problem, if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me through private messages.

Hey sorry for the late reply, I just got the email an hour ago saying that you got the website. Overall the theme doesn't look bad, It looks well documented and has good support. My experience with these more advanced looking themeforest themes, however, is that they sometimes require a certain learning curve to set up. I do not know how hard it is to set up, of course, because I haven't used it, but just be aware.
This theme also uses and alternate version of the DSIDXpress plugin, now it uses the plugin that I recommend, but be aware that this "custom" plugin won't have any support from Zillow if anything doesn't work right.
This is just some food for thought, I've set up a lot of WordPress sites, some from theme forest, a lot from the StudioPress genesis framework, and themes from another dozen different sites.
Let me know if you need help with anyhting else

I haven't worked with that theme in specific. I specialize in Wordpress design and SEO, and id be more than happy to take a look at the theme for you, send over the link. One thing you want to ignore is any theme that claims build in SEO. In many cases the theme will restrict you. Ironically studio press has built in SEO, but it will be disabled with any SEO plugin, I tend to use the WordPress SEO by Yoast. If you have any more questions, let me know Zach

In addition to studiopress themes any experience with Open House Premium by Buchmann Design?

I think they are similar. I prefer the complete control over everything that Dsidxpress provides. Try out the free test plugin and see what you think.

I actually heard that diverse solutions which is owned by zillow isn't a good option for agents. I use idx broker which also has a pluggin for wordpress and I have domain control over it which is a must for seo purposes. Maybe I'm missing something which is very possible. In your opinion what makes diverse solutions better than IDX broker? Or are they similar or is IDX broker better? Thank you for your guidance.

Brett,
I have did quite a bit of real estate websites, and SEO for those sites. I really recommend two themes that run off the genesis framework (they are relatively identical) http://www.studiopress.com/themes/agentpress and http://www.studiopress.com/themes/realpro you can click the demo button to see what they look like in action. The DSIDXpress plugin that is featured in this website is something I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. They charge something like a $99 set up fee and $30/month, but what it gives you is all of your local listings from the MLS naively on your website, meaning they can all be indexed by Google even if it isn't your listing. I have developed on this a lot, and I can give you more information if you would like.
Hope it helps,
Zach

Hello Brett, I'm a fellow Remax agent based in the Bronx NY. I have a site that I designed myself and then I added a Wordpress blog. I used one of the free templates by Bloggo and I added the free plug ins for seo, I use Yoast. It has worked very well for me. I don't know if you have an idx feed on your site, if you do check to see if there is a pluggin. I use idx broker and they have a free pluggin that works like a charm. I don't believe you need to pay for a theme since the free ones on Wordpress are customizable. Hope this helps. What's your URL?

WordPress Themes and SEO
I am helping out a client with updating their website.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | cangelmarketer
The theme they currently have hasn't been updated in ages (I am going to guess years). Would there be a difference in updating to the most recent version of their theme and changing them to a completely different theme? Or because they update in the current theme is so large anyway, it won't make a difference in terms of SEO. The reason I ask is that they don't know their Themeforest details to log in and download the most recent version of the theme, so they would have to re-purchase it, and with the hosting, they have access to a range of themes includes in their package. SEO question
Hi there! I'm the SEO manager for 5 Star Loans. I have 2 city pages running. We are running our business in 2 locations: Berkeley, CA & San Jose, CA. For those offices we've created 2 google listings with separate gmail accounts. Berkeley (http://5starloans.com/berkeley/) ranks well in Berkeley in Gmaps and it shows on first page in organic results. However the second city page San Jose (http://5starloans.com/san-jose/) doesn't show in the Gmaps local pack results and also doesn't rank well in organic results. Both of them have authentic backlinks and reviews. It has been a year already and it's high time we knew the problem 🙂 any comment would be helpful. thanks a lot

Yoast seo title question
I was referred to this plugin and have found it to be the most irritating and poorly designed plugin in the world. I want to be able to set my titles without it changing my page headers as well. For instance - If I set my title to be "This is my article name | site name" it will make my H1 tag read the same. I do not want or desire this nonsense. Why would they think this is something wise? Why would I want my site name on every single H1 tag on my site? How can I fix this? I only want my title to be my title. I want my H1 tag to remain the post/page name that I define in wordpress.

Help with homepage SEO please
Hi I have been looking after this site www.kids-academy.co.uk for 3 weeks now. I spotted that links were a major problem with the site and started to strip out the black hat inbound links straight away. I have also been doing some onsite optimisation for the main areas I have been asked to focus on. This saw results within a week for the subpages which is great. however, the design of the site meant there were no landing pages for the categories and the menu is a permanent "fixture" called a megamenu. I have advised /landingpages were needed not only for the ease of the end user to find what they need but also for SEO. Now the issues I have are that due to the menu style, it sees every one of those links within the homepage - over 200 links! I am wondering if I should nofollow some of them, or get them to change the style of the menu as surely this is having a direct result on the homepage and landing pages just not being seen at all within Google (as normal - Bing and Yahoo love the site). There is a lot of work to do on this site, but I would have thought to have seen some movement on the homepage at least by now. Any help is much appreciated. (Please note, there are some duplicate pages on there at the moment as I amalgamated some of the pages together last night and need to redirect these but I am having issues with redirect loops so those are not a contributing factor as this is a recent change). Thanks

Yoast Seo Plugin
When I view html code of our website, I see this from yoast plugin this. I guess there is really something wrong, especially the page 2? Why so many meta? How best to structure wordpress site.
I need help on how to structure my wordpress site to avoid duplicate content issues. Basically I have a main category page for each of my targeted keywords (about 12). From each of those though I want to create a category for each county in the uk and then about 15 towns within each county. This means I'm creating a LOT of categories. Eg: /plumbers/lincolnshire/lincoln x 15 other counties and towns /local-plumbers/cambridgeshire/cambridge x 15 other counties and towns (I have about 12 main keywords I'm going after) I'm basically creating a category for every town in the UK going after long tail keywords. What is the best way to manage this in wordpress? Advice from another question I posted on here is to write a unique category description for each one as the posts in each category are almost identical. The other problem here is I'm ending up with hundreds of links on a page. (They can't all be seen by the user as I'm using a drop down menu plugin). Any advice appreciated.

Mobile SEO
Hey, In the following article, Google recommended using a 301 redirect but doesn't specify why. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2011/02/making-websites-mobile-friendly.html I assume this is to pass over link equity to the relevant mobile/desktop variation. Can anyone confirm this? Also is there any other reason? Again assuming this would keep the correct URLs in the correct index? Anything else anyone can chip in would be great. Thanks
