Hi! You're in luck, coming soon to your campaigns will be a social tool that measures and tracks Facebook and Twitter.
Have you checked out the FB insights? It gives you quite a bit of data. Another tool I like is http://mediafeedia.com/ which lets you schedule FB statuses and things like this.Also, did you know you can get FB insights for your site, and not just your page? Go to www.facebook.com/insights and in the upper right corner you'll see a button "Insights for your Website". Add your info and they give you a little piece of code that you add to your header file (like for webmaster tools). Then you start getting FB insights for FB interactions to your site, and not just to your FB page!

Thanks Matthew, it would be great if SEOMOZ implements this in the future. I wonder how social media experts measure the success of their Facebook campaigns? Is there any guideline or method I can learn and apply?

We're launching a new site which provides listings for businesses, and being that it's very early in the process and we're building up our presence we're offering our services for free for now. Improving the reach on facebook
I guess a lot of people have this problem... And it really sucks, especially when you generate your money from adsense. So I have the site that has a lot food recipes in Lithuanian. Mostly indexed pretty good by Google. But still a lot of older women come from facebook and click on ads. (woohoo for them). So far I have 50000+ fans. Third biggest food recipe community in Lithuania on facebook, all fans came themselves, never bought them, never cheated somehow.

The biggest community don't get any reach at all - like 1 or 2 likes on every post. They got everything by cheating, sending spam and so on. OK who cares about them anyway? So the problem is that my reach started dropping. My posts reach only 2000-5000 fans and it is not enough for me. I tried to post time when I post and so on - does not really help. I make like 2-5 posts per day with new recipes or very very old recipes (like posts that were not posted for 2 years to remind that they exist). Sometimes I say post something and write "if you like chicken click Like" or if you like fish share with your friends. It helps a lot - people really click on those more and the reach increases. But if I would start asking for these likes every single time three or five times a day, it would look f*cking stupid. So I need all your tips or links to great articles that would help me if that is possible. Thanks 😉0 -
Videos perform poorly on facebook...why?
I have a facebook page with 42,000 Real fans. Images, screenshots, links, questions, etc all perform well. But videos get 0 interaction. If I get 5 likes that is saying something. Why would facebook not send out my videos to people? Is there a way to increase them? It is very frustrating to post our youtube videos to get no response. My fans are most 13-30 yr old gamers, so videos should be right up their alley.

Facebook Virality Metrics Compared To Open Rates
I'm trying to put Facebook's Virality Metrics in a framework I understand better. In email marketing, if you consistently get 25% to 30% open rates on newsletters, you're doing solid in most industries. What would you all say the equivalent for that is in Facebook Virality? How do you guestimate facebook brand searches?
Buongiorno from Weherby Uk 🙂 With brands all clamouring to get a stake in Facebook I wonder how many people actually search for brands on facebook. For example www.evian.com promote their facebook page on their bottles but how could you work out how many searches are entered in the facebook search box for evian as illustrated here:http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/facebook-search-volumes.jpg So my question is please: "How do you work out search volumes for search entries via facebook"? Facebook Places & Business Pages - Any way to consolidate
Hello, I've read multiple posts on this, and the new timeline layout rolling out for business pages..but I haven't seen an update to this issue. My company has a retail store and an online store. Because of this, we had to create a places page and a regular business page. When people "check-in" via Facebook, the check-in goes to the places page. But our main marketing efforts and large fan base are at the business page. Facebook used to allow you to combine these. In a perfect world, all would live on one business page. Has anyone heard an update on this feature? Thanks either way.

What's up with the #! in twitter & Facebook URL's?
I was just wondering why Facebook and now Twitter have added "#!" into the url structure? Does this mean we should link to a twitter profile like this - twitter.com/profile - anymore? Should we now be linking like this: twitter.com/#!/kevinbarnes Kevin

Widgets like Facebook Like and AddThis - Any Negative SEO?
I could go widget crazy with my website, there are so many cool buttons and linking this and likes and etc. There's one that is used a lot, called "Addthis" that adds a series of small icons to share a page via facebook, twitter, etc. The javascript looks innocent enough, but there's a link, and who knows what google makes of it. Then there are the dozen or so Facebook widgets - are they safe to use without negative SEO consequences? Does anyone know of any other pitfalls with using the numerous addons offered free to enhance your site? Thanks for any wisdom out there! Jean
