Reducing Alexa Ranking
-
I have a site mexat, it's current Alexa Rank is 4,497. So, I want to reduce alexa for this site upto 1500 in One Month.
I have done following activities-
- Install Alexa toolbar on my computer.
2)Put Alexa Header code in Source code of my site.
3)I have a big traffic on daily basis upto 1500 visitors.
4)I am posting Blogs, Social Bookmarking, web 2.0 Profile Creation on daily basis.
But I didn't get good result. So please share me some Useful Strategy for this project.

Ha, Ha--yes the best way to increase Alexa ranking is by increasing visits to your site by browsers w/the Alexa toolbar instead. Sounds like an accurate metric to me
-
First things first, with 1500 daily visitors, its unlikely to lower the Alexa Rank to 1500 as your current rank (4,497) itself is far better than your website can ask for. As the other members mentioned, putting your effort to lower your Alexa Rank is absolutely useless, it would be great if you can let us know what is that you want to achieve with this. Does it in any way add value to your organization's bottom line? Or you want to do it just because someone has asked you to? If you can throw some light on these, we will be able to help you with your goals.
If you are hell bent on lowering your Alexa Rank, you can ask all your friends and family to install the Alexa Toolbar and ask them to visit your website.
Best regards,
Devanur Rafi.

Hi,
In order to decrease the Alexa Rank what ever you did is great, but here in 3rd point you mentioned you are getting daily 1500 visitors, if this much of traffic is getting everyday means automatically Alexa Rank should down, but it is not happening means, there are some reasons behind this.
-
You may not getting the rite customers to your site (Un wanted traffic.)
-
In another case if you are getting rite customers and the bouncing rate is very high means just check out your website health like page speed, services, navigation etc...
When ever the user experience is good for a site then the Alexa rank comes down.
Thank you...

I definitely agree with Federico, we have tens of times your traffic on a daily basis and we still have an Alexa global ranking of around 2000. As this is definitely not a metric I/ we care about as it makes no sense and doesn't drive us any revenue or visitors in any way (shout out to RCS from Will Reynolds).

Hey,
Why do you want to increase an Alexa ranking in the first place? Alexa is completely manipulated, and there's software and services that can increase the ranking, but just that, just the number, it won't be a traffic based increase, therefore useless.
The only REAL way to increase an Alexa ranking is having more traffic. 1500 daily visitors does not even come close to the amount of traffic you need to reach the position 1500.
In fact, given that the site has 1500 visitors daily, looks weird that it has a 4497 rank, it should be worse for that amount of traffic.
All you mention in the 4th point, will drive you more traffic, which ultimately may increase the rank, however, you will need much more traffic than 1500 to get to the rank you want.

Homepage Ranking Issue
Hi Folks, My site https://homeontheswan.com/ has been live for a few months now. Certain pages are ranking, even some number 1 postions for prodcuct pages with certain search terms. But our homepage doesn't seem to rank in Google when searching by brand name "Home on the Swan". The page is well optimized according to Moz. Any tips / insight into why this is happening would be much appreciated. Jamie

New site luanched- rankings plummeted
Hi all, we just launched a new version of our site and have seen huge drops in traffic to the homepage. Url structures were changed and now include /us at the end and a lot of the content was consolidated to make the homepage a little cleaner. We kept title tags and meta data the same. Rankings have declined significantly. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

Sudden drop in rank and OSE index
I had improved the rank of chairmats.net from page 3 to top of page 2 in Google over the course of a few weeks using on-page, content building, and "low-hanging fruit" link building. All the sudden in the last 2 weeks, we have dropped to 22nd, have dropped out of the OSE index (chairmats.net doesn't show up, but some old links to www.chairmats.net show up), and PA is now 1. DA wasn't high before but also dropped a point. I don't know why the sudden shun (I read about an exact keyword match for low quality websites update with Google recently, but this site has been around for awhile, and is a large supplier of chair mats.) I'm working on getting quality links, it seems a little tougher for a supplier company like this. Any suggestions on recovering?

Rank tracker and Rankings report differs
Hi all Is this normal? I have set up a campaign for a site. Tracking a variety of keywords. For one of them, which is a quite important keyword I've been working on I've moved down one step in my rankings report. This is first of all weird because my on page optimization went from grade c to a, and even weirder beacuse if I run Rank Tracker tool on the keyword and the URL I see that I've moved up 6 steps, to 15 in Google. Kinda makes it hard to grasp if I'm on the right path or not! (I've checked and they are both results on google.dk, same URL and same keyword - exact)

Ranking product reviews with same keywords and similar
How you would approach keyword optimization for content that people are searching for, and has the same product name, but with the network name on the end, and it’s basically a different phone on each network – or in other cases, it’s almost an identical phone but may have very minor differences. For example, iPhone 4S- sprint vs. iPhone 4S - verizon vs. iPhone 4S at&t How you would attempt to rank for the search terms?

So I Get An Interior Page To Rank, But Lower. How does that help?
Hi, So, I have a term that would bounce around #3 to 5 for. I make a page some months ago that is solely targeted to that term. And, voila! Google sees the new page as the best result instead of the home page and the new page ranks, but at #9 or #10. Of course the homepage is a stronger page, but the new page is better targeted to that term. Using the handy SEOMoz toolbar, the homepage has a page authority of 59 and the newer interior page has 32. Both are equally functional to my purpose. Part of me just wants to 301 in the interior page to the homepage and forget about it. It would take forever to get that interior page up to a similar page authority through the magic of links. What do you think I should do. I feel like I'm channeling Wile E. Coyote. Thanks! Best...Mike

Why won't google rank my homepage
I have a site that ranks high on the first page for it's main keyword at both Bing and Yahoo but horribly at Google. It's a domain I recently acquired and am in the process of optimizing. My goal is to improve the relevancy for the site in Google so that the site shows up better for it's main keyword. With that said I've been working on building valuable links to the page and I would like some opinions on why the homepage is not ranking for the main keyword. Instead I have a junky content page that is ranking for the term. So in the event that you have a exact match domain showing up very high in Bing and Yahoo but not in Google for the homepage, what factors would you look at? Add in the complexity that a page other than the homepage is making grounds on the exact match keyword having moved up from "not in the top 100" to the 50's, what's my best solution to ranking the homepage? The site is optimized well and most inbound links predominantly point to the homepage.

Google rankings tanked....Now what?
We just experience a drop in Google rankings, some pretty harsh, across all of the keywords we have been ranking greater than 50. I’m a noob at SEO, but a technical noob so I started doing my home work. I’ve seen references to the “google dance” and “Honeymoon”, but this hit seems to have effected competitors too. Everyone seems re-ranked with several junk directories jumping up more than I think they should. Has anyone else seen this? Is this more Google algorithm adjustment or a natural settling based on our new SEO attempts? In either case, what should we do next? I know there is a holistic approach and everything is important however, we need bang for the buck at this point to before we start bleeding. One or two next steps? Our industry is residential cleaning and the site is www.bitabliss.com Here is a little history:

The site that’s been running for about 2 years. We initially put up a very basic “throw something up” site without much thought of SEO except for some basics and a long tail approach with a blog, FaceBook and Twitter. We launched an updated site on Feb 23. with new theme and this time some, “on page” work to better hit the basics. The site structure was kept the same and we added on some more localized content in hopes to take advantage of local searches. Also, enter SEOMoz to get us tracking things (Yay MOZ). Until yesterday, we had been doing pretty well in some of our target cites even with the more basic site. When we launched the new site focusing on page titles, descriptions and page content, and a few directory attempts. We started to see some incremental growth. It seemed to me that this kind of growth meant that we were doing the right things and doing a better job than some of the other sites. Any way, yesterday we got smacked down. This seems too harsh for a for the slow increases we have seen over the last month. Any thoughts you have would be great appreciated. Thanks! -Shawn1
