Update page for better SEO score?
-
Hi,
Is it important to update a page sometimes to score better in SEO?
Or if i make a page and never change it, it would be good enough. -
I try to not leave content along for "never" as it's good to watch page performance. Since search engines change their algos and keywords can grow more competitive, I don't feel the need to constantly update my content for "freshness," but I do look at performance and change if I'm not getting the results I want. I'm not a news site, it's not a blog and we aren't always adding or changing products, so I take freshness with some grain of salt.
Because a page works well at a certain place in time doesn't mean it always will and being proactive can help keep it steady.

On top of what Blake said, after updating your page with some fresh content, you should do another push throughout social sites and whatnot. Refresh the page and get some new backlinks and shares. That will help out a lot.

There was a really great article on the MozBlog about this topic. It was titled Freshness Factor: 10 Illustrations on How Fresh Content Can Influence Rankings and gives you detailed information into your question. In short, freshness of a page does affect rankings and if you created it without any SEO value it's worth taking a second look.

Pricing value pages
We have the main pricing page here: https://www.eginnovations.com/product/pricing Then depending on what you click, you'll be taken to the appropriate form on one of these pages: https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=audit https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=saas https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=perpetual https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=subscription How should I handle these? Noindex, follow? Set a canonical? I keep getting notifications that these are duplicate content, but it's just a way to keep the form fills organized. Thanks for your help!

Http vs https: which is better for seo / usability
Hi All, Firstly thank you for taking the time to look. My dilemma is as follows; I have a site on wordpress that I have added an ssl certificate to and the entire domain is secure. The site has a mix of content including a blog area and product pages. My question is what does Google prefer, http or https or does it not matter As i see it my option is to keep the entire site as https and enforce this sitewide so all non secure content redirects to the https version or i could enforce https just in the cart and or product pages, all other content, homepage, blog, about us, contact us etc would be http. From an seo perspective ie google search engine, is their a best way to proceed? Finally, as i currently have http and https both displaying ie duplicate, what would be the way to fix this, i have yoast plugin so can set the canonical there and can also edit my robot.txt. I have come across this resource (http://www.creare.co.uk/http-vs-https-duplicate-content) and am wondering if this guideline is still correct or is there another more current way, if so I would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction. thanks in advance.

Wrong Page Ranking
Higher-level page with more power getting pushed out by weaker page in the SERPs for an important keyword. I don't care about losing the weaker page. Should I: 404 the weaker page and wait for Google to (hopefully) replace it with the stronger page? 301 the weaker page to the stronger page? NOTE: Due to poor communication between content team and myself, the weak and strong pages have similar title tags (i.e, "lawsuits" and "litigation")

Are there negative SEO implications to pages without any images?
Hi Mozzers, Do you think there are any negative effects of having no images on a page but several hundreds words of text? (There is a logo image and call to action buttons). Thanks!
