What is a good amount of social shares per week / day?
-
As the title says. What is your idea of a good amount of social shares to be given per day or week or month for a website?
-
In my experience, a baseline number of shares is completely reliant on the content being shared. The type of content is also indicative of the network it will be shared on. For example: We get more shares from Linkedin when we produce "professional" content. We get more Facebook shares when we share time wasting content.
Sorry I could not be more specific. I would be happy to help if you are more specific about your brand/ target market.

Sounds like you're going to need to get a new software for your website. There is no minimum or maximum amount for Facebook likes. This is all going to depend upon your competition which we don't know. Use open site Explorer to see what the competition has. It may take a long time to rack up shares.

Thanks Francisco. I have tried that but have unfortunately had to give up because my WYSIWYG website making program, for whatever reason, can't accommodate, so have decided to forfeit (it seems to have problems with the widgets that are graphically like PNG files). It can manage widgets that are contained within a box so I'm limited to the little addthis horizontal bar. My site and pages from it gets 5 to 7 social shares a day on places like FB, G+ and Pinterest, is this good?
-
Try to put the FB Like button on your conversion page and tell people to click the like button so the Like goes to the home page. Addthis will not work for this so you will need to make a button here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/

I don't really do much on my FaceBook business page. Yes social shares. Like when someone goes through the "addthis" widget on your site and shares your website / webpage. I'm sure no amount is too little!
-
Are you talking about sharing on your facebook wall? I would say 20% pimping your product and 80% relevant info.
If you are talking about getting Facebook URL likes, get as many as you can. There is no amount that's too little.

Best Facebook content to share?
What is the best kinds of things to share on Facebook pages? I read conflicting results on the matter. In my experience memes and funny pictures get the best results. Next is creative art or user generated things. Videos and links to my site, even when they are funny or high quality pieces, get almost no interaction. Videos will basically get ignored and sent out to very few people.

My company has been sharing images on its Facebook and twitter outlets which are getting a lot of shares. It seems to be the only thing really working for us. Buying Facebook Shares?
Would it be considered buying links if you asked your Facebook fan base to share a specific product page, and by doing so they will be entered to win a drawing? How would Google look at this? And could we expect a significant increase in rankings as a result? Or would it just be a temporary "what's trending?" boost you think?

Does social media really work?
I just finished a 2 week test using Twitter. The person running the test was tweeting for 1 hour every day, but the tweets were broken up into several different times throughout the day. She engaged in conversations, retweeted, posted interested and catchy topics and linked to our blog. By the end of the test, we only saw a 7% increase in traffic to the blog. There was no noticeable increase in sales. According to an article I read by Business Insider, Applied Predictive Technologies ran a test to help companies like Starbucks measure the impact of social media. They concluded that social media accounted for a 2% increase in sales. That's not much for the time and money that goes into it. What's your experience with social media? When I first posted this, I neglected to say this Twitter account is one we have been activly using for about 2 years, and we have posted to it at least once or twice every day for the last couple of years. And, we are a well established company for the past 8 years, and we regularily submit press releases and have written 2 articles per day on our blog for several years.
