Best way to prevent "Duplicate Content" for different links
-
We are working on job portal domain. As we know jobs going to be expired day by day. I will give you my question by example.
Example: I have two links [mysite.com/Jobs-In-Cincinnati and mysite.com/Jobs-In-Atlanta]. Before month I had too many jobs on both the links. Jobs were expired one by one after two/three months I don't have any jobs on both the links. So I got same page content on both the links like "please refine search". Google consider these two pages as duplicate content issue.
Will you please suggest which is the best way to come out from it?
Thanks in advance.

You mean MOZ.com considers it duplicate content, right?
Duplicate content, as in having pages with duplicate content will cause you a "ding" in your rankings-- but mostly when it's duplicated from domain-to-domain. I have never seen evidence of duplicate content on the same website, harming a website, no matter what Google says about canonical links. (I still think you should use canonical links.)
But assuming that having some duplicate content on your site is really very harmful...
Google knows the difference between a page that is actually duplicate content and plain old blank pages. MOZ may consider blank pages duplicate, but MOZ isn't nearly as sophisticated as Google.
I wouldn't sweat it myself.

To overcome that Google see both pages as duplicated content when empty, i would spend time on writting information about working in Cincinnati and a different piece about working in Atlanta.
I'm not from Amerika, I have no idea what the difference between these to cities are, do they have cinema's / dinners / lunch rooms for after and during work. Do they have 4 seasons or not. So make unique content for each page, by adding different jobs they will even have new content every 2/3 months (google likes), but if all jobs are gone they are still different. It will be some work in the beginning, but help you in the end.

Create original content or Copy from several sources?
I own a site that that has about 15,000 pages that need some description content. I plan to hire someone to retrieve or create content for each of these pages on my site. each page needs about 500 words. I was thinking that there is probably three ways i can go about this. If I hire someone cheap I can probably have them copy data from about 20 different sites. using about 5 sources for each page description. I can hire someone that has some experience writing english content, and have them go to a few sites and then in their own words summarize the description on my site. I can hire a great content writer, have them do research on each page, and create completely unique content. I probably will do some combination of these 3 things. (great content writer on a few pages, since thats all i can afford to do) and the rest do the cheaper route. Is copying sentences from multiple sources a good idea? or does the content really need to be original?

Site "Internal" Search Full-Text Indexing vs. Manual Tagging
I’m looking for recommendations on how to power site search in an efficient way. Ideally, I would like to get recommendations on platforms, tools, trends, technology and resources. This discussion does not really refer to SEO or site search optimization. It is more related to the technology used to power site search. I would like to get an idea on the differences between full-text indexing site search and site search that requires manual tagging.

Are there any clear, significant differences between Google SEO and Yahoo/Bing SEO?
I have a client who is very focused on getting ranks in Yahoo! Convincing him that focusing on Google is much more important isn't going to happen. He uses Yahoo! He ranks very well in Google, and his site is relatively well-made with no glaring on-page issues. His backlink profile is also not an issue. I'm trying to find ways to rank specifically for Yahoo! since we're ranking well in Google and the client cares a ton about Yahoo! I know Yahoo! uses Bing's algorithm, but results aren't identical in the two engines. Does anyone know of big, glaring difference in the two algorithms that would result in great Google ranks, but almost non-existent Yahoo! ranks? I have him in Bing webmasters, his local SEO and citations are good, his backlink profile is good, and his on-page is decent.

Deleting a duplicate google places listing
Hi i currently have duplicate Google places listings for a store. One of the Google Places listings is mine (which is correct) and the other is a listing which someone else put up (which is wrong). Which is currently sending customers to the wrong location. I tried to claim the listing by clicking: If you own this place, claim it and edit it directly Which takes me to this page: This Listing Is Unavailable You may only access listings that you own. If you created this listing with a different Google Account, please log in to that account and try again. If you've deleted this listing, you may create it again in Google Places. Is my own option at this stage to leave a comment with additional details use: IMAGE ATTACHED And select 'this is a duplicate listing'? I would imagine this would take sometime, and i need it changed as soon as possible. Any suggestions? screenshot_133.jpg

Why are search results different for 'Yahoo Search' and Powered by Yahoo search?
So if you misspell something (no dns to connect with... unregistered domain as an example) on a browser that uses a Road Runner connection, it takes you to a search engine 'powered by yahoo search' which searches for whatever you typed in. Anyway, today we noticed that the website of one of our clients isn't coming up in this 'Powered by Yahoo Search' via roadrunner but comes up in Yahoo Search for the same query. In fact, we noticed that our clients website (10 yrs + established site) is missing in yahoo powered by search but on all other engines. Any clues? I thought this should be generally the same across Yahoo / Yahoo Powered / Bing / Bing Powered. Could this be using something pre-bing merger?
