How to find a good PPC firm
-
Hi guys, I'm completely new to PPC. I want to hire a firm to help drive PPC traffic to credit card landing pages. Our starting budget is limited ($2,000/month for everything) but can grow to about $5,000 if we see results.
My questions are:
- Where can I find a list of good PPC firms that fits my vertical (credit cards) and budget?
- What are the key questions I should ask a PPC firm before I hire them?
- Is there a "Beginner's Guide to PPC" type of whitepaper, ebook, article, or course I can take to educate myself?
Thanks in advance!
-
I'd add a couple questions to what's already been said.
-
Will I be able to see the campaign events through my own Google Analytics account?
-
If so, will you be setting up campaign goals with GA for me or is that something I have to track myself?
-
What types of recommendations will you be making to improve the campaign?
One thing to add, I'd suggest that you set up the Google Tag Manager account and provide access to the agency. That way, you'll be able to have one Google code that addresses Google Analytics and GTM on your site. You'll also retain the historic information from the account if the relationship with the agency ends.

I am an SEO strategist so I know how PPC works but my advices are obviously not better than anyone who is expert in that particular area.
Where you can find the expert? Moz.com have the list of agencies that are good at getting the job done but if you think that they are expensive or not the one you are looking for you can find other experts but asking in to your local community and ask other businesses who have used any of their service.
Key questions you should ask before hiring a PPC firm! This post by Bruce Clay is awesome in that case: http://www.bruceclay.com/blog/hiring-a-ppc-agency/
As far as the beginners guide to PPC is concern here are the two books I would personally recommend.

Hope this helps!

Hi,
Not sure if you have seen the list of recommended companies here on Moz, if you filter them down on PPC you should be able to find a couple of companies that should fit your needs: http://moz.com/community/recommended#ppc

Hi,My response is inline: **- Where can I find a list of good PPC firms that fits my vertical (credit cards) and budget?**If you are planning to start PPC on Google Adwords then there are more than 5,000 Google Partners worldwide. To find one that fits your needs, use Google Partner Search, which lets you search for a Partner by name, or based on your location, advertising budget, or the type of service you want help with. Similarly, for your specific Bing Ads campaign needs, you can search here- http://advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/en-in/training-accreditation-find-a-pro-directory. The pros in this directory are accredited members only — they've been trained and tested on their Bing Ads skills and recognized for their outstanding expertise. Also, here is the list of The Top 25 Most Influential PPC Experts in 2014. however, they may not fit into your budget.
-**What are the key questions I should ask a PPC firm before I hire them?**Here are few things which you should ask/ confirm before hiring any PPC firm:
-
History/ track record/ experience
-
Ask for work proof like case studies, examples of previous successful projects
-
Do they have experience in your vertical? Any track record for your industry.
-
What is their internal team structure? Do they have certified professional with experience?
-
Is there any contract which you need to sign before starting the work? How long would it be?
-
Who will manage my account and what kind of communication will I have with my account manager?
-
What level of account access will be provided?
-
Will the campaign be manually reviewed?
-
What will be the campaign set up, bidding and budget strategy?
-
How do you measure the campaign success?
-
How frequently will I receive reporting and what sort of information will I be provided?
-**Is there a "Beginner's Guide to PPC" type of whitepaper, ebook, article, or course I can take to educate myself?**Here are few guides which you can refer- http://www.ppchero.com/the-beginners-guide-to-setting-up-an-adwords-account/http://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/ppc-guide-marketers-listhttp://searchenginewatch.com/article/2323500/PPC-Management-Operations-The-Ultimate-GuideHope this will help!

PPC click-through rate by position
Hey Mozzers, I'm trying to find an average CTR by position in the SERPs for paid search ads, but I can't find a reliable source. Does anybody have this information, or can anybody share their own thoughts based on experience? Thanks!

Looking for an intensive Adwords training classes in San Francisco or a good online resource!
Hi everyone, It may not be the right forum to post such a request but I am looking for an intensive advanced adwords training program within the next 2 weeks in the San Francisco area. I am adwords certified since last week but I have never really managed multiple accounts before and I am looking for something that would get me up to speed. I have already researched online and found that Cardinal Path, Luna Metrics and Academy X are offering such classes but nothing this month. Do you guys have any suggestions for a good intensive training program around the San Francisco Area that offers classes this month? Online resources are welcomed as well. Thanks for letting me know!

Can I dynamically add city name to my PPC ad text and URL based on the user's search?
I have looked into DKI (Dynamic Keyword Insertion), but have not found a solution and thought that some excellent Mozzer might be able to help. Here is the idea: We have landing pages for hundreds of cities. The local content on each of these cities changes page to page, however the keywords that we are going after are the same. So, I am trying to create a dynamic ad group that looks something like this: Headline: {City Name} {Keyword} Description: We cover {City Name} {Keyword}, get more info now! URL: http://www.website.com/{City Name} Please let me know if you can assist with this, B

How do you assess PPC ROI?
I thought this would be pretty straightforward, but I'm trying to put together my first PPC ROI spreadsheet and it's turning out to be much more complicated than I had anticipated. Would anyone be willing to tell me what you look at to determine the return you're getting on PPC -- and if you're using AdWords and Analytics, what screens/reports you rely on? It seems to be more complex than simply comparing Paid Search Revenue to spend ... but I could be overcomplicating things.

Best UK PPC management company
I'm looking to outsource my PPC management and would love some feedback on which companies are worth paying for this service? I'm worried as there are so many cold calling scam artists out there and I want to choose the best company for the job. I have been considering "Adrac" as they only charge when they save you money! Sounds too good to be true so I'm automatically sceptical. Can anyone vouch for Adrac or suggest a better/different company?

Launching a PPC Campaign during the Holidays
Hi Mozzers- I have a client who is interested in running a PPC campaign. We are all setup to go...Here's my dilemma. The client provides moving services - household and commercial. I'm torn whether or not to launch the campaign during the holidays. Pros: We're not paying for impressions so it won't cost us any more $$. Cons: It probably won't show the best outcome over December - clicks/conversion. Thoughts? Pull the trigger and launch or wait until January? Thanks!

Facebook PPC. Using Google URL Builder - Now What?
Hey There! So I've been trying some FB PPC ads. I recently learned I needed to use Google's URL builder to add the appropriate tracking fields into the URL (source, campaign, etc). The FB ad link now uses a custom URL with all the correct parameters. Now what do I do in analytics? Do I create a filter? A goal? Getting a little dizzy going in circles with google analytic help, and I'm hoping someone here can direct me. Thanks! -Dan

Does anybody know of a good bulk import http response checker? The one I was using has disappeared and I can only find checkers that only take one URL at a time.
An example of something I'm looking for but I want to check multiple checkers: http://web-sniffer.net/
