Hello
I've spent some much information about how to get the best keywords for my SEO niche page.
However, since the recent google changes, different opinions I fond it hard to use something accurate.
Also the fact hat may keywords has so many variables, it makes it even tougher and more complex for a new beginner like me.
Could anyone please guide me in the right way please?
Lets say I would like rankings for Electronic Cigarettes in Norway.
It can be written in so many different way, ecig. e-cig. elcig, e cigarette etc etc. (norwegian version ofc)
I have for the most part used google keyword planner, but I am really unsure of what boxes to tick and not.
I have deleted my wordpress installation and starting from scratch. But I want to make sure I get it 100% right this time before I start.

Hey there, I know a bit about the e-cig space, when I am trying to understand permutations, e-cig vs ecig vs e cigarette I do something super simple. I type in one term and see if Google bolds the matches to the other terms. Here is an example: http://screencast.com/t/mmVk3tdE now egis doesn't seem to match e-cig, so I would try ecigs for instance, and you can see here what matches and doesn't match: http://screencast.com/t/GsxgthQXxTBA
We are splitting hairs here though, I find that over time (and usually very quickly) the machine learning starts kicking in, and Google gets all the matches, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Thank you iybi!
That made it a lot more clear. So when I have used Moz page grader, that was for the starting page only and not all the subpages? I have been using it constantly and monitored. Few days ago I got as the picture show. My problem then was "Am i creating and using the right keywords in the niche for norwegian users and google-norway"?
Going to watch the video you linked for sure.
Thank you very much!

It sounds like you might be getting a little overwhelmed which can cause a lack of focus. Try to go a page at a time starting with as little as 3-5 key words per page and using On Page Grader make sure you're scoring an A. From there it's time to start some strategic link building. The 2nd video down on this page is a great place to start http://moz.com/blog/2012-mozcon-videos-are-here. Hope that helps.

Domain keyword ranking
I used to use Searchmetrics (years ago) which enabled me to add in the domain name into their website, and it would provide all the keywords that rank for it. Does Moz do that do you know? Thanks

Rank for a keyword with a slightly different designation
Hi guys, I'm a newcomer in the world of SEO. I'd like to rank for the keyword "therapy toy" but I'm used to name my product "therapy smart toy". Is a slightly different designation of my product can affect my ranking position in the short or long term? Thank you for your help 🙂

How accurate is Googles Keyword Planner?
I did some keyword research for our company. Some of the terms we got 100,000 search volume for in 2011 now have only 90 monthly searches. I am doing exact match for both US and Global and neither are any where near those high of numbers. Now I can't say how the old report on this was done but we are all a little skeptical of these numbers. Is there any other tool out there for search volume on Google? The Moz tool while it lists Google as an option only does Bing. Thank you!

Keywords + Country?
Hey guys, Let's say that I'm doing on-site SEO for a website that sells football shirts. This website targets 5 different countries. We only have a .com domain and no other country specific domains will be added at this point. When I choose the keywords, do I opt for product name + country or only product name? football shirts france or football shirts? Some info: Countries have been added in the title of the pages. Countries appear in the footer. Thank You.

Keyword tool
Does anyone know of any good keyword tools that will help me find and then maintain a list of keywords? I currently use Google adwords and now the keyword tool from Moz but I am looking for something that will help me find and generate keywords not just get statistics about them. Thank you.

Which is best for keywords; plurals vs singular
Hello! This is my first question so I hope it will be a good one and everyone finds it useful; I have found many conflicting views and need some clarification. Question: When it comes to optimising for specific keywords, which is best; plurals or singular? Example: Should I optimise for 'conveyor' with medium competition and a larger local [exact] traffic volume, or go for 'conveyors' with a higher competition and a slightly smaller local [exact] volume of traffic? Obviously this example is a bit of no brainer as I would tend to sway towards the lower competition with a good volume of traffic to be more competitive, but when the terms are so closely linked, would it be wise to cover both grounds now and go for 'conveyors'? What is general consensus out there? Thanks in advance! Richard

Keyword Variations?
Hi, can anybody tell me if it is useful to optimize the following keyword in all 3 Versions?
Keyword Research | | mbase22
As I know google separates the 2 words as if using a hyphen - so it would be the same as if just using a space between the words.
But if you search for the different Versions in google there are different SERPS for every of this versions? Not many users will search using a hyphen between the words I guess - butt I saw some few keywords tipped in with hyphen in my google analytics report. And I want to be on top 😉 Piloten Ausbildung Piloten-Ausbildung Pilotenausbildung thx!0
