Knowledge base for seo, announcing new articles on blog (dupe content)
-
Hi all,
Im thinking of creating a knowledge base with all many asked questions in my company. This could be a great Link-bait source but also nice ranking opportunities i think.
But sometimes some new articles are so actual that i also want to blog them.
Can i for example double post them (or post a big excerpt) on the blog and canonicalise it to the KB article?
Will links to the blog have equal value to KB links? And will this work? -
That's the route to go.

I don't see anything wrong in this approach unless you're using the canonical tag. But for KB, I'd suggest to structure in a way that, it's not seems to be the page full of links.. Rather, write 3-4 unique lines with every link. In this way, your KB will look more powerful, credible and because of fresh content the chances of getting it ranked will increase.
Hope this helps!

Yes, you're giving the answers already yourself. Lucky you! Indeed use a canonical tag to point back to the original articles either on the blog or the knowledge base.

Duplicate Content- Archives
Our site is showing duplicate content for about 20 pages, they are all on the site as regular pages and in the "Archive" section. So the URL is different by one word but all the content is the same, is there a way to fix this and make it to where Google doesn't see it as duplicate content? Thanks!

Duplicate Pages Different Content
Will duplicate pages different content hurt rankings/seo E-commerce Site is plugin style with WYSIWYG editor allowing for full customization, all pages are setup with basic default content. Ive created custom pages with content/keywords to begin seo on them I have two pages www.domain.com/sports/hockey and www.domain.com/nhl-tickets The first url is default, with a single H1tag, + Default Meta+Title tags, the second is the content rich page, and structured properly, both of which show up on the site, should I block the first url from displaying at all? The reason I am asking is because ive also setup breadcrumb links, which makes all of these category url's accessible on the site, I cannot edit breadcrumb links, we can either have them there or remove them. Thank you Very Much!!

Too many articles within ecommerce site?
So recently purchased an ecommerce site to work on with lots of potential. The site was effected by Penguin update and now I am trying to fix up some issues. One of the problems I think may be the articles that he had written within the site. The site is an ecommerce site but has lots of articles like how to's and tips. A lot of these articles are not very fluent but seems to be written for SEO. Should I just remove them entirely or should I just stuff them in the back somewhere.

How to get a blog into Technorati
Hi This again is probably a naive question, but here goes anyway. I've searched around a lot to find out how to use 'Technorati' with my companies blog posts, i.e.extend their reach. I have discovered, from lots of querying, that WordPress does an automatic RSS feed which 'Technorati' will automatically pick up on once it has been told of an update to the blog by WPs automated Ping. In a WP forum I found a discussion about the problems of getting your blog into 'Technorati'. http://wordpress.org/support/topic/tags-do-not-update-technorati/page/2?replies=52 In it basically it states that you blog post should be there. If it isn't it is due to errors in coding on an individualized theme. I ran a W3C validater suggested, that did pick up 90 errors for my 'home' blog page. The link even explains in practical terms how to correct the errors. However, the designer is not convinced this is the problem. As a novice I don’t know if this is the reason for definite. Does anyone have an opinion on this problem?
