Location Pages
-
Hi all,
Business who has 2 locations..
They have 2 separate pages for their locations
https://www.jacobsallen.co.uk/contact-us/jacobs-allen-bury-st-edmunds/
https://www.jacobsallen.co.uk/contact-us/jacobs-allen-haverhill/
But the location and address details also appear on
https://www.jacobsallen.co.uk/contact-us/ and the home page.
Is this going to be hurting their local SEO? In my opinion yes and the address info should just be on the 2 location pages.
Thanks in advance

Hi AL123al,
If you're marketing a business with just two locations, it's fine to have contact info for both in the footer. I don't think there's a "best" way here. I think you should do whatever works well for your customers and ensures that they can instantly surface info for getting in touch with you.
I believe you're also saying you've included the names of two cities in your homepage title tag. As you've only got two locations, that seems fine to me. If you had more than that, I think you'd start running out of room, and your title tag might look kind of run-on and spammy, but if you're just writing a tag something like:
Award-winning Oakland, Berkeley Realtors | HMS Realty
... you should be fine.

Hi
Can I also ask about a two location business scenario? We have the two location addresses in the footer except for the actual location pages where the footer only has the address of that location. Is this the best way to go? e.g. Glasgow office only has Glasgow address in the footer.
Some sites with multi location don't seem to have any address in the footer just leaving it to the content of the location pages.
Which is the best way?
Also, due to the the authority of the home page, we have tags for "Service" + primary location where we most want to rank. Usually the domains are not strong enough to rank without the location info. If I think about Estate Agents for example. Without putting a location in the tag on the Home page we would wait a long time to rank for the main location. so "Estate Agents" + Glasgow. However, we also have a location page for Glasgow. I know this isn't ideal but seems the best solution. What do you think?

Hi there!
No worries: it's totally find to list all your locations on a contact page, and as you only have two locations, no worries about putting both on the homepage.

Hi there,
IMO, no, I don't think this will hurt their local SEO. The NAP information has been structured under dedicated header tags and marked up with localBusiness schema. Google should be able to differentiate the information for Haverhill and Bury St. Edmunds based on this page structure.
Homepage Screenshot - Structured under dedicated H3 tags
Contact Us Screenshot - Structured under dedicated H2 tags
Hope this helps!

More pages on website better for SEO?
Hi all, Is creating more pages better for SEO? Of course the pages being valuable content. Is this because you want the user to spend as much time as possible on your site. A lot of my competitors websites seem to have more pages than mine and their domain authorities are higher, for example the services we provide are all on one page and for my competitors each services as its own page. Kind Regards, Aqib

Service Location links in footer and on the service page - spamming or good practice?
We are are a managed IT services business so we try and target people searching for IT support in a number of key areas. We have created individual location pages (11) to localise our service in these specific areas. We put these location links in the footer which went to the specified IT support pages respectively. Now we have created a general 'managed IT services' page and are thinking of linking to these specific pages on there as well as it makes sense to do it. Would having these 11 links in the footer as well as on the 'managed IT services' page be spamming? or would it be good practice? If this is spamming, which linking location should hold preference. Would appreciate the feedback

Do location pages boost the homepage?
Google has stated that businesses should spend time creating location pages for the various service areas that businesses operate in. What I want to know is, it is equally about boosting the relevance of the site as a whole, as well as ranking that individual page in the local area. Does Google take into account the fact that you have the location page and reward the homepage by favoring it more in that local area, or is it simply about ranking an individual page in each town/city?

Multiple location pages are they bad?
Hello all, I am research some competitors of a client of mine. My client specializes in H.P. printer repair and over the last 8 years has lost market shares to the competition. I want to reclaim market share. As I was searching some of the service companies many have page that list multiple towns that they service. here is an example. http://printerrepairservice.com/locations-we-service/ Should I be recommending this to my client? To me it seems like a spam keyword process. I know an employee of this particular company and he say their online business is booming. I want my clients to boom too! What are your thoughts on these location type pages?

Can you recommend any widgets or additions for a local landing page?
Our company has locations in several different cities, and we're in the process of creating landing pages for each city that feature relevant information. We use Drupal, fwiw. In the past, we've talked about trying to include a local weather widget, a news widget, or something similar as a way to help improve our local rankings for each area. Have you used anything like that? What did you find to be effective? Can you recommend anything similar? Thanks!

How to improve optimization of this page
http://www.atomicx.com/cincinnati-web-design.php I am trying to get this page to rank for "cincinnati web design" and related phrases. I redid the landing page with all new content, images, url, etc about 3 months ago. Since then the site is still not showing up in the top 50 results. I see no reason that the page would not be. Our seo and compute repair phrases have all gone up but our web design phrases are being very stubborn. Thoughts?

Which internal page approach is better? Couponsite/Kohls OR Couponsite/Houston/Kohls
Google will use the user's location for a restaurant search but it doesn't look to me like it uses it for a national company like Kohls. Is there a way to determine that? Assume I have no physical local presence in Houston for answering the question. Assume also that the coupon I list is a national one that applies everywhere. It seems to me that a facebook post that uses the first one as a link is better because more people live outside of Houston than inside and will see it as relevant, AND I may list it for more than one city. But, for specificity perhaps it makes sense to have the second one as it may be more likely to show up in a Google search result by someone in Houston.. Your thoughts please? Thanks.
