Structured Data Reviews in Knowledge Panel
-
I need help with getting my site appearing in the knowledge panel for reviews. Our reviews are appearing in the search snippets but not on the knowledge panel when our competitors with far fewer reviews are. We’ve labored over best practices in perfecting our markup but would love a second opinion to see if there’s something we’re overlooking.
For example take this venue on our website: https://www.eventsource.ca/cathedral-centre
It has 136 of our own reviews.
https://www.google.ca/search?q=cathedral+centre
We are the 1st result and it shows our star rating, reviews and price range. However, we don’t appear in the knowledge panel - this is happening for almost every business we have listed on our site.
In this particular example, the knowledge panel has en Ville Catering with 45 reviews.
I cannot find any errors in our structured data but I see it in our competition:
https://enville.com/saint-james-cathedral-centre-wedding-catering/
Example 2:
Search: https://www.google.ca/search?q=burlington+convention+centre
US: https://www.eventsource.ca/burlington-convention-centre
SDTT: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventsource.ca%2Fburlington-convention-centreCompetitor in KP: https://www.weddingwire.ca/wedding-banquet-halls/burlington-convention-centre--e12513
SDTT: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.weddingwire.ca%2Fwedding-banquet-halls%2Fburlington-convention-centre--e12513Example 3:

SDTT: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventsource.ca%2Fmississauga-convention-centreSearch: https://www.google.ca/search?q=mississauga+convention+centre
Competitor 1 in KP: https://www.facebook.com/MississaugaConventionCentre/
SDTT: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FMississaugaConventionCentre%2F(I know it’s Facebook. However, there’s about 6-8 competitors appearing in the KP with Schema issues and we aren’t. We’ve compared ourselves against each one of them and cannot determine what the issue might be.)

Hi Fubra,
Thanks for your response. My previous question lacked clarity as we want to rank as a review source for the businesses we have listed on our website.
We have all of our channels working well (PPC, social, organic, etc.).
I'm focusing on getting this issue of having us as a review source working in the knowledge panel as our smaller competitors are there but we aren't.
I've included a screenshot to help illustrate what we'd like to achieve.

Hi there,
This is tricky to answer since you're asking about local search and I'm working from the UK.
Firstly, have you set up google my business, linked it to yourself as the owner and looked after any add ons like open times, contact etc.?
I have attached the knowledge panel i've found for the business that is ranking for cathedral centre events. Can you give us more details on what you mean about the reviews not showing? It appears perfectly normal.
I wonder whether you're competing for brand names, so while you're searching "cathedral centre" and hoping your business to rank, google either sees it as a 'thing' aka a place, or as another business? Unfortunately google offers no guarantees that you'll rank well for your brand name.
Sounds like you've done good work with mark up, maybe try running a PPC campaign alongside to help it along?
You know you rank well for your brand name, right? not neccessary the 'cathedral centre' subsect right? it's just missing a knowledge panel because (I assume) you haven't set up your Google My Business?
Hope that helps - if not, let me know more details on what you're asking for?
Thanks!

PPC: How do we get our reviews into AdWords?
Hi there, I know that Google have sadly discontinued ratings extension in AdWords but does anyone know a get-around for this? If possible, we'd like to show off the good reviews we have from Google My Business' Knowledge Panel in our ads. We're an online product/service so I don't want to link GMB through the location extension if possible (it doesn't make sense for anyone to pay us a visit in real life). Is there a better way of linking our AdWords to our GMB or is there an alternative extension/ AdWords feature we can use to get review ratings in our ad? Thanks 🙂

Purchasing and rebranding practice with bad reviews
An optometrist is looking to buy a practice with really bad Google reviews. They want to rebrand it under their name. This practice has pretty bad SEO as well. What should they do? Should they just mark the GMB page as permanently closed then make a new one under the new business name? Or is that risky or considered spammy since the "new" practice is also an optometrist? Could Google think it is a duplicate or an attempt to trick them?

Google Reviews Rich Snippets
Howdy Moz fans! Does anyone know if you can use Google Reviews as a Rich Snippet in the actual Google listing for your business? It seems strange that you can have this for widgets like Trust Pilot and Reviews.co.uk and not Google Reviews. Surely Google allow you to display Google reviews on your site that can then be used for schema mark up? Maybe they don't because those reviews are used for local searches? Hope this makes sense. David.

Local review site discovery
Rand and others have shared a link to a free service where you type in a state location and it shows a list of the most used local listings & review sites for that area. I can't find this service or link anywhere. Was this a service that was on getlisted.org that no longer exists?? Anyone know where it is or where it went?

Google+ Places Reviews
Hi There, Am I right in saying that Google Places reviews cannot be reviewed easily if at all. I have advised a client wirth a negative review to instead respond to the review and get clients to place good quality reviews. However, they seem to think if I ring Google they will just remove them and that Google has confirmed this. I am pretty sure I am right but before I jump through pointless hurdles with Google to be told I am, I want to make sure. Has anyone been successful in removing negative reviews from Google. Kind Regards Neil

Grade Us vs 5 Star Reviews?
We need to get some more reviews, so we're looking at either getting Grade Us or 5 Star Reviews' services. Does anyone have strong feelings about either one? Or another service? Thanks, Ruben

Too many reviews too quickly?
Is there any sort of guideline on this? Right now, we have very few google reviews. However, I've cross referenced a list of our happiest clients with people who have g+ accounts. There are at least 12 clients, I feel strongly would write us g+ reviews if I asked them to. I want to just get the word out today, but I'm worried if 8-12 reviews in a week would red flag us. I've heard that getting too many reviews to quickly can be a problem, but I'm thinking that more like 100 than 10, but I have no idea. Most of my competitors don't have any reviews, and the most any of them have is 10. I don't know if that matters at all either in terms of triggering a red flag. I'd appreciate whatever insight you all could give. Thanks, Ruben

How to improve the review to the website ?
Hello guys,
Reviews and Ratings | | WayneRooney
lately we think how we can improve all the reviews on our site from the clients.
We notice that there are all these option regarding to reviews : Google Reviews/Local/Places/+
Yelp
Facebook
www.feefo.com
www.trustpilot.co.uk
www.ekomi.co.uk/uk And much more... Now, the problem here with a lot of these sites, the person that write the review need to register to the site.
Most of our clients, not interesting in register or to open account.
They need something fast that they can write the review and move on. What do you think is the right approach to manage all this ?
We getting a lot of traffic but its seems that we don't advantage all of him regarding to the review part. Any tips here from the expert ? Thank you0
