Articles on our own site?
-
Hi Guy's
Is it better to have articles on our own website under a news section, with keyword phrases that point to relevant pages or is it better to post them on our blog (that is seperate, we use blogger) and point them to relevant pages on our site?
or maybe a bit of both?
Thanks
Daniel

I agree, and if you have the article on your site, your site (rather than blogger) will profit from any links (shares, tweets...) pointing to your article.

I would recommend the articles be on your own website FIRST. you can then syndicate your article on your external blog, just be sure to let google index your site first.
Your keywords stand a better chance of ranking on your own website rather than a blog on blogspot.com (not always true but most of the time this is the case)

I know the both sides and I think in a bit of both. In the internal blog you can have more corporative information (and fresh content), and in the external blog you can point to the content with other aproach.
I hope this be helpfull.
Bye.

Sitemap include all site links or just ones we want indexed?
Got a quick sitemap question. We have a clients site built in opencart and are getting ready to submit the sitmap. The default sitemap setting generates urls right off of the root. For example site.com/product. These urls are also accessible through the site itself. We prefer to give the site some depth and have structured the products so the urls are site.com/category/product. All of the product pages have canonicals including the category so we should not have to worry about duplicate content on the /product page vs the /category/product page. My question is both types of product pages are included in the sitemap at the moment. Since we don't want google to index the /product urls should we leave them off of the sitemap even though they are readily accessible from the frontend(though not linked)? Or just leave them and let the canonical tag be used in directing google as to which urls to index. Thanks in advance.

Is this site structure going to kill link juice?
http://www.sqlsentry.com/ This is a parallax type page and the navigation basically points you to the homepage every time. The sub-menu on the secondary pages only ushers you down the page to various topics. This design has concerned me for some time but I'd like another opinion.

Anchor text in Ecommerce site without relevant pages
I'm posting articles to my e-commerce site and just wondering about the anchor text links within the posts. I don't have relevant static pages but the items do come up in a search query. For example i don't have a specific page for red wine but if a user searched for red wine it would give a search query URL. Should I use that search URL query as my anchor text?
