Goal Conversion Rate increase AND Abandonment Increase
-
I wonder if someone can help me understand some data I'm seeing in Google Analytics.
SetUp
Goal with 3 step Funnel
Date Comparison is 1st-8th September & 1st-8th June
The Data (pics attached)
Looking at the Goal Conversion Rate I can see:
September - 11.58% vs June - 10.42% an increase which Google shows as (+11.18%)
For same time period Abandonment Rate is showing
September - 71.3% vs June - 61.5% - an increase which Google shows as (+16.5%)
The Questions
How can I bee seeing both an increase in conversion rate AND and increase in Abandonment rate on the funnel?
And why doesnt "(Conversion Rate + Abandonment Rate) = 100%" ?
Many thanks for any help!

Thanks Joram,
I will take a look into that and get back to you. Definitely sounds feasible though.

I think the point is that the Goal Conversion Rate shows the percentage of the TOTAL visitors on your site that convert. The Abandonment rate shows the percentage of visitors that leave the funnel before completion. I don't know how you've set up your site and the funnel, but I think that some visitors might enter the site on a page that is not included in the funnel. When they leave again, they will count as a visitor, but not as a funnel abandonment.

Attribution of conversions to payment gateway in Google Analytics
Hi all, We have been having a problem for a while now where most transactions are attributed to referrals from our payment gateway Sagepay. The issue started a couple of months ago, when we finally upgraded our website to https:// for logged in users and transactions. Before, when we were using http://, transactions were attributed to the correct channel. Even weirder, we upgraded 4 websites and only 2 of them have the issue now, the other two continue to attribute transactions correctly. I added Sagepay to the referral exclusion list which made no difference. Over the weekend, we upgraded to the global site tag and it seems to have improved somewhat, but yesterday 50% of transactions were still attributed to referral/sagepay. I am also seeing an odd issue, where for half of the transactions, the revenue and transaction are attributed to one channel, but the products (quantity) are attributed to another. One of the channels is always referral/sagepay and the other is the channel that the transaction should be attributed to. Has anyone seen this issue before? I'd appreciate any tips that might help us fix this issue. Thanks in advance!

Why might my websites crawl rate....explode?
Hi Mozzers, I have a website with approx 110,000 pages. According to search console, Google will usually crawl, on average, anywhere between 500 - 1500 pages per day. However, lately the crawl rate seems to have increased rather drastically: 9/5/16 - 923

9/12/16 - 79809 I was wondering if anyone could offer any insight into why may be happening and if I should be concerned?
Thanks in advance for all advice.1 -

Google Analytics Goal Tracking Head Match w/ Query Strings
Hello, I have what should be a simple question here but there is a small nuisance I am trying to make sure I have configured correctly. We have a product based website w/ no e-commerce because they sell through a dealer network. All these product pages have "Where to Buy" links and the URL after you click where to buy always uses the query string ?r=XXX. Example: www.mysite.com/product/category/subcategory/product-name?r=12345 I want to setup a goal in GA with a URL and configure head match on the "?r" but which of the following is exactly how it should be configured with the "Goal URL" ?r= ?r r= Does it matter, because I had it setup as "?r" and it was never registering any goals. Do I need to leave off the "?" and just have it be r= Thanks in advance for the respones.

Organic bounce rate after site re-launch
3 months ago a client of mine re-launched theoir web site (after having a lot of work done on it). Since then, many of the SEO indications are good - more non-paid keywords sending search visits, more organic visits overall, more URLs receiving entrances via search, etc. The issue is that their bounce rate has been increasing pretty much EVERY week since. Has anyone seen a similar issue and what could a potential solution be for this? Thanks everyone!

Conversion rates by browser & OS - any feedback/experts/experience?
Hi, Ive been evaluating conversion rates by operating system and by browser for a client. Ive picked up significant and somewhat disturbing trends. As you'd expect the bulk of traffic is coming from a Windows/Internet Explorer combination. This is unfortunately one of the worst combinations (Windows/Firefox & Windows/Safari did worse. Chrome/Windows was significantly the best combination with Windows). Windows also performs much worse than Mac. E.g. Windows/Firefox performs worse than Mac/Firefox. Overall conversion rate for Mac is 7.07% compared to 5.69% Windows. This is based on hundreds of thousands of visits and equates to tens of thousands of dollars difference in revenue. Generally later versions of browsers perform better on both main operating systems e.g IE 9.0 converts at 6.33% compared to 8.0 at 5.80% on Windows and Firefox 4.01 on the Mac converts at 7.57% compared to 3.6.16 at 6.54% (although this dataset is smaller than Windows/IE). Page load speeds (recorded in the clients analytics) are significantly faster on Mac than Windows (as expected really). Being Windows/IE and specifically Windows IE8 represents the bulk of traffic should we be addressing this? Will any optimisation negatively affect better performing Mac/Browser combinations? Understanding that Mac users equate to 'better' converting visitors - what else could be done there? Anyone have thoughts or experience on optimising pages for improved conversion rates via IE and Windows? Thanks in advance, Andy

Strange increase in Direct traffic in Google analytics
For past 2 weeks, several of our sites have strange increase in direct traffic in Google Analytics. we also have another tracking code, and in this account we don't have any big changes, so this is very strange what is happening. We didn't changed any codes, and none of the changes were done to application. Any ideas why this is happening? z7ME9.jpg
