Facebook Contest: Fan or Not?
-
Let's say that I manage a Page for a company, and I run a contest through a "Promoted Post".
-
Does every single Like to that "Promoted post" will be counted as new fan?
-
My objective is to increase the fans number of the page, which is your best practice to achieve that through a Facebook contest?
Many thanks.

Ok Sean, thank you anyway for your tips!

haha damn. Was hoping it was not something I am in. I already consult for one of the largest ecom online printing businesses.
I will say this. Social is not for every industry. Attributable revenue is not always there, look at assisted conversions and determine what your real goals for social are. As fan count isn't a metric to worry about. Look for either last touch, assisted revenue via Google analytics or some engagement metric. Too many people get caught up in social and how cool it is. At the end of the day, its money that matters.

Great Sean, thank you.
The industry is "online printing", if you have some ideas
-
No you can have someone like a post but not be fan.
Here is an example of an in newsfeed ad to like a page from my own newsfeed

If you want to give me more details of the business, I could give you ideas. Don't have to tell me their name. Just what they do so I know the industry.
-
Thank you Sean, very specific about the 2).
What is your answer to the question 1)?
1) Does every single Like to that "Promoted post" will be counted as new fan?
-
We do facebook ppc for a few clients and depending on the industry, it works really well. Am able to secure a good fan (in the industry) for maybe $0.25-0.50. Also try and capture their email as well by landing them on a tab which post like they can enter for a contest.
Key is to build out your campaigns very targeted instead of lumping stuff together. Its just like newbies with PPC versus people who are good at it. Granular is good.

Facebook Likes, What are your thoughts on people begging for them?
Hi There, I'm seeing more and more businesses (especially small businesses) setting up Facebook pages and then almost begging people to like them with lines such as "lets see if we can get to 200 likes", etc etc. What are your thoughts on this does it really help and do you think Google will find a way to not count them as spammy?

Tools for Automating Facebook Posts?
Hey Mozzers, We're revamping our social media campaign, and I'm looking for a tool that will allow me to schedules social media posts (Facebook specifically) in advance, so I'll only have to knock them out once a week. A cursory Google search has provided me with some options (HootSuite, etc) but I'd love to hear from people who actually use these services. What's your social media automation tool of choice, and how has it worked out for you? Thanks!

Merge Facebook profiles for SEO?
We are considering merging facebook profiles for our three stores. If we do this, users will not be able to "check in" at a location, but wouldn't it be better to have 4,000 fans on one profile than to have 2,500, 1,000, and 500 fans on the three profiles? The main site for these stores is also an ecommerce site.
