Facebook Contest: Fan or Not?
-
Let's say that I manage a Page for a company, and I run a contest through a "Promoted Post".
-
Does every single Like to that "Promoted post" will be counted as new fan?
-
My objective is to increase the fans number of the page, which is your best practice to achieve that through a Facebook contest?
Many thanks.

Ok Sean, thank you anyway for your tips!
-
haha damn. Was hoping it was not something I am in. I already consult for one of the largest ecom online printing businesses.
I will say this. Social is not for every industry. Attributable revenue is not always there, look at assisted conversions and determine what your real goals for social are. As fan count isn't a metric to worry about. Look for either last touch, assisted revenue via Google analytics or some engagement metric. Too many people get caught up in social and how cool it is. At the end of the day, its money that matters.

Great Sean, thank you.
The industry is "online printing", if you have some ideas
-
No you can have someone like a post but not be fan.
Here is an example of an in newsfeed ad to like a page from my own newsfeed

If you want to give me more details of the business, I could give you ideas. Don't have to tell me their name. Just what they do so I know the industry.
-
Thank you Sean, very specific about the 2).
What is your answer to the question 1)?
1) Does every single Like to that "Promoted post" will be counted as new fan?
-
We do facebook ppc for a few clients and depending on the industry, it works really well. Am able to secure a good fan (in the industry) for maybe $0.25-0.50. Also try and capture their email as well by landing them on a tab which post like they can enter for a contest.
Key is to build out your campaigns very targeted instead of lumping stuff together. Its just like newbies with PPC versus people who are good at it. Granular is good.

Is there a Facebook Ad equivalent to Google MCC?
Hi Mozzers, Really unsure if we are missing something here, but whilst trying to set-up paid ads for some of our clients on FB we have run into a significant issue. We need to be able to allow FB to debit multiple business accounts for varying ads on different pages. However every time we try to access the ads manager to set-up a new ad, FB takes us to the individuals (the person logged in to the page) account, rather than creating an ad account for that page/business individually. What are we missing? We use Google MCC for managing our PPC campaigns and so wondered if there is anything similar we can use for FB? Or any other recommendations on how to get round this without dragging each client into the office and asking them to log-in so that we can set these up? Thanks!

Where do the Facebook star ratings come from?
I have a client whose FB page has a 5 star rating (apparently from 5 reviews) but I have no clue from where they are aggregated? I tried Google-ing for answers with no luck! Any idea? This is the page I am referring to... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Partners-in-Womens-Health-of-Jupiter-LLC/310303442400699?bookmark_t=page

Hello, We've developed a piece of niche content. We're building relationships with sites in our niche for link building. Below is our engagement process. What do we do on facebook (#5) other than 'like' them? Can you give me some exact ideas of what works? 1. Like them on facebook 2. Follow them on Twitter 3. Add them on G+ 4. Read their recent blog posts. 5. Comment in their facebook account about what I liked about their latest blog posts and tweet 6. Post helpful blog post comments

Facebook sharing and referral links. Is there a happy medium?
We have a website with a large member base where users share content a lot. But the SEO problem I have, is that every share needs to reflect a "referral link" so that if a new user signs up, the original sharer receives "referral" credit for that sign up. I really want to be able to take advantage of our huge member base and their sharing, but I'm finding it difficult to do so because each user shares a link that has their referral in it. Can anyone think of an SEO friendly method of sharing that both gives our site SEO benefits, as well as providing the referral credit back to the user?

Running a contest to increase Facebook Likes
I recently read about a well known company giving away a large prize and offering anyone a chance to win by Liking their Facebook Page. Has there been any statements provided by Google on how they view the attempt to increase Facebook Likes through contests. Or if they have not revealed anything, what do you think Google's approach would be based on their history?

Facebook Page vs. regular website
Thought experiment... All other things being equal (content, inbound links, etc), which will rank better: a Facebook Page or a regular website? Why?

Is facebook and twitter always a good idea to promote a website and improve Google rankings?
I'm attempting to promote a fresh seafood market / restaurant here on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I have not found a lot of examples of people using Twitter and Facebook to promote this type of business here. Is it hard to justify the time for return here? One benefit I thought for twitter is we could have tweets displayed on site giving us some dynamic content which would hopefully keep Google spider coming back more regularly is this correct? Is there any link building advantage to using these social media sites?
