Researching where your brand is mentioned in Social Media
-
Greetings from Hot & sweaty Wetherby
Ok imagine you want to launcg a socaila media campiagn for a client but before you jump into creating a facebook business page you decide to do some research first ie youw want to know if & where you brand is being discussed. So my question is:
"What social media tool can you use to identify which social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook etc) is being used to discuss a brand"
Thanks in advance,
David -
If you an agency and can allow Sprout Social to access their social profiles, then you can just setup another group under Settings > Users & Groups. But grouping is only available in Standard, Deluxe, and Premium plans.
If you do not have access to social profiles, you "could" just add the other three brand names to your keywords and it would essentially search for your initial brand + the three others. The reporting may get a little messy, but you could easily filter things out by checking/un-checking the keyword(s).

Ive Just jumped through the subscription hoops for both Hootsuite & Sprout Social. Ive noticed they just ask for 1 account to monitor but i want to research another clients social chatter. So my question is:
"Do you have to pay extra to monitor say three brands?"
Grazie -
Thank you for all your replies, now i a actually do some research before jumping in!
Grazie tanto,
David -
Hootesuite is another option. They have a free trial version.

Hi David,
I am actually in the same process, except in-house. I am currently looking at:
- SocialBro
- Mention
- Vocus (mainly bc we are already using this for other PR)
- Sprout Social
In my opinion, Mention and Sprout Social are definitely the best out of the 4 I listed. They are extremely easy to use and configure.
Both have free trials, which I'd recommend you check out to make sure that it suites your needs.
If I had to pick, I'd probably choose Social Sprout (and I "think" Moz actually uses Social Sprout come to think of what I heard previously). It gives you great information and the weekly summary reports are pretty awesome.
I'd recommend a trial before jumping into anything. Or do what I did... set up 4 trials at the same time and compare your findings across the different software.
Hope this helps.
Good luck,
Mike

Getting Youtube Channel to Appear in Own Brand Search Results
Hi There When searching for a company's name, the company's YouTube channel infrequently appears on page 2, and more often than not a single video is displayed rather than the channel itself. If you search for Moz, there video's appear on page 1. https://www.google.co.uk/search?safe=active&sxsrf=ACYBGNSFXYC_ZW2NSU7MGBPkVLQaKwArZA%3A1574343148737&source=hp&ei=7JHWXamfKrC7gwf1roS4BA&q=moz&oq=moz&gs_l=psy-ab.3..35i39l2j0i67j0i131i67j0i67l6.680.953..1052...0.0..0.86.239.3......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i131.PYRZrWhmps0&ved=0ahUKEwipxYehtfvlAhWw3eAKHXUXAUcQ4dUDCAg&uact=5 I've added a rich schema link on the site to the YouTube channel, but could I ask what else I can do, either on the site or on YouTube to create a stronger connection between our brand name and our YouTube channel? Does Google give more ranking weight for Shares for One Social Network over Another.
We are using BuzzSumo to explore the types of content that generate the highest number of shares per article. Does anyone have data to suggest that a share on Google+ carries more ranking weight than a share on Twitter or Facebook, or LinkedIn? We have seen a recent case with one of our client's competitors where they significantly grew their Google+ shares within a relatively short period of time and gained a higher rank for a key search phrase that my client is also targeting. Thank you, Rosemary Brisco

Main Site Social Media SEO impact on different product specific site
Hi, Few months ago I have created a minisite for a particular product category for the online store Giftcampaign.es with a different domain name. The idea was to focus this minisite on selling personalized usb memories and to have a different design, functionality and content that the main one (the site is http://www.usbpersonalizado.es). What I have done here is to link on my site the Social Markers of Facebook and LinkedIn of the parent site GiftCampaign.es, as we are not planning to open and maintain an account for those social networks, and we are already maintaining the ones for the parent site. I would like to know if the SEO Positioning of my minisite can benefit from the links of the Social Networks of the parent site or whether it makes not really an impact in SEO positioning unless I create and maintain new social network accounts for the different minisites that I create with different domain names. I look forward for your response. Best regards, Oriol .

How does knowing SEO benefit a consultant in social media
Hi Mozers I'm in the process of trying to secure a client that requires social media expertise. I want to be able to use my SEO knowledge as a benefit. I am struggling to explain in simple terms how a knowledge of SEO underpins a good Social Media campaign. Does anyone know of any good resources I can work through to communicate this issue effectively?

Implementing Pinterest On Site and Social Snippets
Hi can someone confirm, does Pinterest use Open Graph Protocol? If you use the Pinterest Widget builder - http://business.pinterest.com/widget-builder/#do_pin_it_button Will the image you place in the widget replace the image Pinterest selects if it does use the Open Graph Protocol? The site already uses Open Graph Protocol for Facebook and Google+. It also uses Twitter cards for twitter. It would be good if we don't need to add more html (such as from the Pinterest widget builder) for Pinterest. -- Matt

Request: Feedback on new free tool that provides social analytics for recent blog posts
We have created a tool that provides "at a glance social metrics" for the URLs listed in an RSS feed. Its intended purposes are: Monitor the social success of your recent blog posts Spy on the social success of your competitors' recent blog posts Quickly analyze a blog for social sharing metrics to determine whether it is a good outreach prospect or guest post opportunity Check out the tool at http://www.rypmarketing.com/tools/rss-social-analyzer.php I've attached a report run on the YouMoz RSS feed. Would love to hear some feedback on the tool... Do you think the tool is useful? Nice, but not worthwhile? What could be done to improve it? What ways do you think it will be most useful? Thanks! Social Media Signals with AddThis?
Good day guys, Just a quick question. By having the AddThis sharing tool to share content such as blogs, does it still send the same social signals to Google as you would get by having the official Facebook/Twitter plug-ins? Regards

How long until Social Spam achieves the same notoriety/problem as Link Spam used to be
What are people's thoughts on whether or not social spam will become a major problem soon, just like forum profile/blog comment spam, etc, and what do you think the search engines will do about companies that are blatantly gaming the social signals game I.E. since social proof seems to be google's answer to combating anchor text manipulation and content farms, what do you think will be google's answer to combating the rampant social spam that will surely overtake us.
