What are your favorite "reverse guest posting" techniques?
-
There's plenty of content out there that teaches how to become a guest author on other blogs. However, I'm looking for ideas on how to attract other authors to post on our own blog (www.reviewjump.com/blog).
Specifically, we're targeting agencies and marketers to write for us. Admittedly, it's a fairly new blog, but we've done quite a bit of outreach so far, and this hasn't been brought up as a concern. Ironically, we've found that many agencies we've spoken with don't even maintain their own blog. I'm guessing if they don't author their own, why would they spend the effort to write for ours?
Anyway, to make it easy for authors to apply, we even created a specific page for it (www.reviewjump.com/guest-author/). And I know that while some sites charge $100's for guest posts, this would be free for our published authors.
We are making some headway with our outreach, but I was searching for any helpful ideas you can share on what works for you and your "reverse guest posting" strategies.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks EGOL. I like this approach and think we'll give it a try. I think it's a soft approach that can help us get our foot in the door.

This isn't an idea about how to attract an article, instead it is about getting help with an article -- a "contributor" or a "coauthor".
Let's say you want a post about a topic that you know a little about but not enough to make it "best on the web". However, you know that someone else has photos, or data, or a video, or expertise that would lift your post over the top. Ask if they want to contribute a few paragraphs, a photo and some data. For that you can attribute their portion of the post and/or the resources that they add. The result is a win-win for both of you.
Now that they have contributed once you might be able to get a partnership going. You might get them to work with you on another post next month, they might ask you to write one for them, they might give you free access to their awesome photo trove.
I would honestly rather have contributors or coauthors because I am really picky about the content that is posted on my site. Coauthors, in my experience are easy to find. They are often your competitor, and two competitors working together can be stronger than either of you alone.

Does google penalize you if you post content in french and english on a website
I'm trying to encourage content editors to only post content in either English or French. For example we have a French press release but the team are wanting it on our site in French and English. I thought this would fall under duplicate content rules. Does google penalize you if you post content in French and English on a website?

Would a lot of images on one post be categorized as thin content?
As an example, if i write an article on 12 best print ads by BMW, it will have 12 images and possible 12 single liners and a paragraph. The images will have the necessary alt tags. But overall, will this post be counted as low content and is there changes of being penalized by google for it?

Google+ Authorship Penalties for Past Posts?
Our blog has recently been updated to allocate past posts from 2011 and on to link to one of our recent writers who just came on board in 2013. Our writer set up a new Google+ profile for our blog last month, and has tagged all of the past posts with his Google+ authorship code. Is there a possibility that this could actually hurt our writer's authorship authority and our blog's authority, since the blog posts and the Google+ profile activation dates will not match up?

Locating Guest Blogging Niches
Hey Folks, Does anybody have advice on tools I could use to locate blogs on specific topics? My plan is to approach the webmasters and offer guest blogging services. I know I could just do a google search for something like "KEYWORD blogs" but I thought I'd see if there is anything more sophisticated out there. Thanks, Rich

Is it important to stick to a schedule when posting blogs?
I was watching the Mozinar titled: "From Nothing to Expert: How to Blog like You Mean It" and Tanner mentions that he does not stick to a schedule when posting blogs. There will be days or even a week go by where he does not post anything because he has not found a topic worth writing about. I was under the impression that it was important to post blogs at the same time everyday, or on the same day every week. Does sticking to a regimented schedule not have benefits anymore? Are there any negative or positive effects of sticking to a schedule?

Can I share share my content with other sites either as a individual post or RSS or will I be encourage duplicate content on the web and upset Google
Hi, I have a new site http://www.homeforbusiness.co.uk. I want to encourage traffic to the site by sharing some of my content with other related websites which have a higher PR ranking and traffic for a link to my site. Is this going to upset Google re-duplicate content and devalue my site and stop any organic rankings in the future? Equally some high PR sites which have a good synergy with mine such as http://thewomensbusinessclubs.com/ allow me to add my RSS feed with their blog network. Is this a good thing to do or not for the same reasons as above? Or can I only do the above my creating fresh content? Thanks, Elizabeth Conley

WordPress Guest Post Admin Access?
Is there a plugin or function in WordPress for a guest poster to just get admin access to control comments? Example: Big Brand X writes a guest post on www.yoursite.com. Big Brand X wants admin access to approve or delete comments on their guest on www.yoursite.com. Big Brand X doesn't want access to edit their guest post or any other post on www.yoursite.com, they just want admin access to manage the comments on their guest post. Is this possible? Thanks for the help!
