It's been over a year of going back and forth with Google My Business team
-
It's been over a year of going back and forth with Google My Business team regarding my GMB page. It was active for 2+ years prior with over 20+ reviews. I email GMB weekly to find out the status of the page and they keep saying it is a technical glitch and they are waiting for an update. Would love to get any advice on how to resolve my business page so it appears again on the Google maps or who I can contact to resolve this issue. This is our third time creating a new G+ business page https://plus.google.com/+LocalSEOSearchToronto

Good luck, John!

1: Google hasn't disclosed much regarding the technical glitch but instead they keep advising us to wait for their response and it is being looked into.
2: I have not escalated using the GMB forum, but will be doing so after your recommendation.
3: I have not escalated this matter using Twitter however I will be doing so after your recommendation.
Thank you for all your help and I will keep you posted in terms of what the outcome is in the coming days/weeks.
Regards,
John Vuong

Hi John,
Thanks so much for the answers and further details. I am seeing all of these addresses associated with your business when looking it up in our Check Lisitng tool:
- Local SEO Search Inc
210 Simcoe Street, Unit 2109, Toronto, ON, M5T 1T4
(416) 888-8756Verified - Local SEO Search
45 Pond Mills Rd, # 1110, London, ON, N5Z 4W5
(226) 271-4998Verified - Local SEO Search
2400 Midland Avenue, Suite 112, Toronto, ON, M1S 1P8
(416) 888-8756Verified - Local SEO Search
25 Main St W, Suite 1115A, Hamilton, ON, L8P 1H1
(905) 667-5557Verified - Local SEO Search
41 Creek Ridge St, Kitchener, ON, N2R 0B6
(226) 243-4002Verified - Local SEO Search
255 Queens Ave, Suite 1760A, London, ON, N6A 5R8
(519) 937-1845
All of the above appear to be stemming from Facebook rather than Google. This could have nothing to do with why your GMB listing isn't appearing if Google is saying it's a technical glitch, but it caught my eye as setting up chains of listings for employees could result in listing suspension. Google hasn't done a super job about communications surrounding this, but if you built listings like this on Google it could possibly have gotten the account flagged for spam. A few more questions:
-
Has Google been any more forthcoming about what, exactly, this technical glitch is? Any further details on that?
-
Have you tried pleading for escalation of your issue in the GMB forum?
-
Have you tried Google's GMB Twitter support? Sometimes the service there is faster. https://twitter.com/GoogleMyBiz
The level of support really varies across Google's support vehicles. I'd be going for the forum and Twitter on this after a year of having no listing.
At the very least, the company should clean up those Facebook pages so that they aren't diluting the clear NAP of the company. This won't resolve the issue you're experiencing with GMB, but it's important nevertheless.

The only active one that I have is my corporate main office at 210 Simcoe Street. I had sales reps in different locations and set up a GMB for those locations when I first started the business 4 years ago. I deleted all the pages based on several discussions with the Google My Business team and currently have 1 active page.

Hi Miriam,
Thank you for your quick response.
1: Google My Business - specially Google Maps
2: I currently have 1 GMB page for my corporate address. I had created 2 other ones then was advised to remove them completely and start all over using a personal Gmail account
3: disappeared over a year ago
4: I have only created new GMB pages based on the recommendation of the specialists at Google advising me when and how to do so.
5: From my knowledge there has not been any suspensions. I have followed their guidelines
Would love to hear from the community to see if there is anything I can do further to get this matter resolved or if anyone else has encountered a similar situation.

Just wanted to add that you definitely do seem to be missing from packs, knowledge panel and maps. Curious about the physical location of your business. I'm looking you up in Check Listing and see 7 possible addresses associated with your business if I toggle the hidden results:

Are all of those your company? Have there been moves?

Hi John!
Wow - a whole year. Our community may not be able to help, unfortunately, if Google, themselves, say there's a glitch in their system. I do have some questions, though:
-
Are you talking about a Google My Business listing, or a Google+ page? What you've linked to in your post is the latter.
-
Are you saying you've created 3 GMB listings or 3 Google+ pages?
-
When did the disappearance occur?
-
Why do you keep creating additional listings/pages?
-
To your knowledge, have there been any past problems, such as soft of hard suspensions of the Google My Business listing?
I'd like to know further details of what you've experienced.

Do people receive notifications when you respond to their Google reviews?
If someone leaves a review of your business on your Google My Business listing, and you respond to that review, will they receive an email notification of your response to their review? We are working with a client who has unanswered reviews from several years ago, and though it's best practice to respond to all reviews, we didn't want to respond to reviews from 2013 if the person (who has likely forgot about their experience with the business in question) is going to get an email notifying them of our late response to their review. Thank you!

Why does this business have an average of 4.8 and not 5?
I was doing some research today and came across a business that has 5 reviews, all 5 stars. For some reason, their average is showing as 4.8, instead of a perfect 5. Looking at some other businesses, I see one with 4 5-stars, 1 4-star, and 1 1-star. 25/6 = 4.1666666. That would round to 4.2, but Google lists them as 4.3. Is Google just bad at math, or are they using some other factor in calculating these averages?

Should I change to new URL after going through a period of bad reviews
A couple of years ago we had a series of bad reviews due to our billing company. We have not been able to recover from this and are unable to appear in Local listings due to the horrible reviews even though they are from years ago. Would it be a good idea to change domains and google+ accounts in order to start over with reviews and local citations?

Does advertising on Yelp help a business get more Yelp reviews?
I've gotten this question from a few clients. There seems to be a correlation in some cases between paying to advertise on Yelp, and the volume of reviews received. Of course, correlation does not necessarily equal causation. And I can attest to the fact that other clients who have at times advertised on Yelp did not even see a correlation. Has anyone else seen this correlation? And if so, can you speak to the possible causation or lack thereof?

Schema Markup for email with review action for Google places listing - Auto segment.
Hi Guys I have been trying to integrate schema markup with review action into car purchase emails to drive additional reviews for dealership google places listings. I have used the below mark-up but im struggling to get the review action when defining itemtype as AutoDealer. When changing itemtype to FoodEstablishment the review action works perfectly. Has anyone got any suggestions why this may be or have any experience using the review action within emails for google places or itemtype other than FoodEstablishment. I have read the great Moz post on this here but im still struggling. Thanks in advance for any help! Why are certain words formatted as bold in Google+ Reviews?
Hey guys, I noticed that certain words within reviews left on Google+ pages are being shown in bold text. The original reviews do not feature bold text, but when shown in snippets they appear. I attached a photo below for a college's G+ page. Any insight would be great! 0ZHfhnP

Google Warns Local Businesses: You Have 3 Weeks to Save Your Places Listing
Has anyone heard anything about this Google warning that was supposedly sent to some Google Place owners recently. The message says: We are making some changes to Google Places for Business and Google Maps so we can continue providing people with the best experience when they're looking for local businesses. As part of this process, we're asking business owners to review and confirm some of the information in their Google Places accounts so we can keep showing it to Google users. We know this will be a few extra steps for merchants, and we apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your time. We have sent business owners affected by these changes an email entitled "Action Required: You have 3 weeks to save your Google Places Listing". Source: http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2327744/Google-Warns-Local-Businesses-You-Have-3-Weeks-to-Save-Your-Places-Listing I haven't found much other information in the SEO community but I just wanted to see if anyone has actually received this notice or not? Someone suggested it may just be a test in Australia/Austria. (Not sure which one it is as the comment in the above list references both countries) Thanks for any information you have on this topic.
