How to remove "Results 1 - 20 of 47" from Google SERP Snippet

We are trying to optimise our SERP snippet in Google to increase CTR, but we have this horrid "Results 1 - 20 of 47" in the description.
We feel this gets in the way of the message and so wish to remove it, but how??
Any ideas apart from removing the paging from the page?

I think that's the way to go, my brain on a Friday isn't coming up with anything else!
I will experiment and see what works and report back.

Well you could experiment by replacing the structure of the results:
Instead of: 1 - 12 of 236 products
Try: Viewing 1 - 12 of a possible 236 products
Maybe the long version will throw Google off

Yes, exactly my thinking or along those lines.
Trying to think of a way of getting rid, without having to change the website for the worse.

This result does seem to fool us into thinking it is a rich snippet, however, I think it is one generated by Google and not manually. My guess is that Google has a robot that looks for the "of" with a numerical prefix and suffix and automatically generates a snippet for it.

So the Results 1-15 is not in the description then, it is in the rich snippet section. How about posting a small screenshot of the SERP and I will be able to find which rich snippet you need to kill.

I think the problem is that Google is detecting text on the page and then converting this into a special grey prefix on the SERP snippet description.
E.g the client has "Showing 1 - 15 of 87 results for 'xxx' " on their page. And they'll want to keep that... but we don't want Google magically detecting that and turning it into the prefix.

It's using the meta description, but adding the "Results 1 - 20 of 47" in front of it. It's a automated thing Google does and the text doesn't exist on the website anywhere.
You'll often see it on Amazon results also.
So that's not the answer.
Try Googling "amazon nike trainers" and hopefully you'll see what I mean.

By simply writing a unique description on the pages that have the "Results 1-20" should fix that as Google will display your description as the snippet. If the description feed is blank then Google will either pull the first 160 chars it sees from your page and use that as the description, or Google will find a relevant match of page content according to your search query.

Pages with rel "next"/"prev" still crawling as duplicate?
Howdy! I have a site that is crawling as "duplicate content pages" that is really just pagination. The rel next/prev is in place and done correctly but Roger Bot and Google are both showing duplicated content + duplicate page titles & meta's respectively. The only thing I can think of is we have a canonical pointing back at the URL you are on - we do not have a view all option right now and would not feel comfortable recommending it given the speed implications and size of their catalog. Google snippet chosen why?
We have a page about buying property in the Megeve area of the Alps in France. We are No.2 on Google.co.uk for the term "megeve property for sale" and No.1 for "megeve property". http://www.prestigeproperty.co.uk/MegeveProperty/Properties.asp If you search for "megeve property for sale", Google serves our META description as the snippet: Ski chalets, homes and apartments for sale in this exclusive, prestigious Rhone Alpes village - 520000-16500000 EUR. However, we noticed that searching for just "megeve property" serves up a much better snippet taken from the text on the page: A crucial factor for potential property buyers is that there is a strong rental market in Megève and this remains high all year around with properties close to the ... Does anyone know why Google would serve this particular snippet instead of the META description. Is it the number of strong and descriptive words used, or some other reason?

Problem with description on Google search results.
A few months ago I changed the description of one of the pages on my site.

And I noticed that Google does not display the entire description of his search results. Description page is: "Get yourself a personalized name necklace, we offer a huge range of silver, gold and gold plated name necklaces." Is it dangerous to use "Fetch as Google" too much in Webmaster Tools?
I saw some people freaking out about this on some forums and thought I would ask. Are you aware of there being any downside to use "Fetch as Google" often? Is it a bad thing to do when you create a new page or blog post, for example?

What is the difference between link rel="canonical" and meta name="canonical"?
Hi mozzers, I would like to know What is the difference between link rel="canonical" and meta name="canonical"? and is it dangerous to have both of these elements combined together? One of my client's page has the these two elements and kind of bothers me because I only know link rel="canonical" to be relevant to remove duplicates. Thanks!

Biggest Benefit for Footer Links "Created by ___?"
Greetings Mozzers, I wanted to see how I can get the most bang for my buck in regards to footer links back to my site. I understand that the footer is one of the weakest areas for links, however, I have many sites that I have done and want to get the most benefit from the footer area where I say created by etc. First Question: Is there a chance to get some value at of this area? Second Question: What is the best structure to use to get the most benefit from this opportunity? If there is zero value within this region and I can't get any benefit, would the following penalize me? Clickable links in Google SERP
Hi, I came across clickable links appearing below the meta description in Google SERP. The links are not necessarily the top pages for that particular domain and sometimes tend to reflect the newly added stock. Is there a way to determine what factors account for this? Thanks, mryxN.png

Getting Google in index but display "parent" pages..
Greetings esteemed SEO experts - I'm hunting for advice: We operate an accommodation listings website. We monetize by listing position in search results, i.e. you pay more to get higher placing in the page. Because of this, while we want individual detailed listing pages to be indexed to get the value of the content, we don't really want them appearing in Google search results. We ideally want the "content value" to be attributed to the parent page - and google to display this as the link in the search results instead of the individual listing. Any ideas on how to achieve this?
