Reported data in Multi-channel funnels in GA wrong?
-
I'd love to start using the Multi-channel funnels feature in Google Analytics but I have zero confidence in the reported data as it seems to bear no relationship to the standard ecomm reports.
To be specific, in August 2013, MCF is reporting the following for email campaigns:
Assisted conversions = 20
Assisted conversion value = £1,405.91
Last Click or Direct Conversions = 14
Last Click or Direct Conversion Value = £369.57Now switching to the traffic sources report, GA reports for the email campaigns revenue was £1,226,41 over the same period across 21 transactions. My interpretation of this is that the email campaigns were the "last-click" and delivered £1,226,41 and 21 "conversions" (as I have no goals configured in this GA view, conversions = transactions I believe)
That leaves the MCF last-click report short by £856.84 (£1,226,41 - £369.57)
I can see no reason why this should be so unless I'm not interpreting the data correctly!
Anybody have any suggestions/ideas as to what's going on?
Any help appreciated.

Make sure under the MCF "Explorer" tab, you have "Conversions" selected and not "Assisting Interactions Analysis"

Google Analytics - Events impacting session data
Hi Mozzers, Has anybody ever experienced event tracking significantly impacting session data? Here's a summary of what I'm finding: When I measure sessions to a particular hostname (a subdomain) in my Google Analytics report, sessions dropped by over 100% when I removed some event tracking on that subdomain (an event was triggered when a user clicked on a particular button). When I reinstate that event tracking, sessions go back up to around where they used to be. Can anybody understand why this might be happening? Thanks!

Can't identify the real source of a goal because subdomains in GA
Hello, I have one domain for my website (www.domain.com) where I receive all the new traffic and a subdomain (billing.domain.com) for the billing system. Im tracking both in Analytics. I have a goal (new order) configured in the subdomain -billing system-. But when I want to track the source / medium of the goals (new orders) in billing.domain.com, always appears my main website (www.domain.com) as the referral. Now I added in Analytics: Admin > Property > Referral Exclusion List, the www.domain.com and domain.com. Do you think that now I can track the real referrer of the goals? Or should I do a more complex tracking setup with Tag Manager ( https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/6106951 ) to pass the session cookies from a subdomain to another one, just to identify the real source / medium of the visitor? Thank you 🙂

GA visitor number inconsistencies?
Hey Mozzers Recently a client of ours undertook a paid campaign using Taboola and have a vast difference between reported clicks and visitors reported by GA. On further investigation the _utm.gif event is sent to google-analytics.com 50% of the time and stat.g.doubleclick.net the remaining 50% of the time Is this likely to be the cause of the discrepancy and if so is it possible to resolve this without removing the remarketing tag (which seems to be responsible for stats.g.doublelclick.net). Many thanks Justin

My GA code is on my site but Google Analytics isn't being pulled into SEOMoz...why?
The CEO wants me to present an SEO plan next week for three of our sites; however, I got this message when I went to campaign overview tab: "It appears there's a problem with our connection to your Google Analytics account. Please go to your Settings page to update your connection." I double-checked the GA code and it's the same on both our site and in SEOMoz...what gives? I clicked on Choose Your GA Profile->Set GA Account and Profile then got this warning: "Are you sure you want to change your Google Analytics connection? Changing your connection will reset our cache of your historical GA traffic data." I need this data pronto so I can set strategy for three sites; any help would be greatly appreciated! Darrell

So my question is please... "Do i have to add additional tracking code to Google analytics as explained here - https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/gaTrackingSocial " Thanks in advance,

Google Analytics Report throws up Google as a referrer
Good morning from Wet & Windy 12 degrees C wetherby UK... Using Google analytics I've noticed in the traffic sources refferer subsection some traffic is categorized as originating from Google. Whats puzzling me is.... I know a huge amount of traddic stems from Google but as the below screenshot illustrates only 21 visitors come from Google: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/google-refferal-sources-top-levelcopy.jpg And when i drill down some are coming from Google mobile 😞 http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/google-referral-sourcescopy.jpg Is traffic categorised as Google referrer down to Google hiding searches via ssl as explained here: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/google-referral-sourcescopy.jpg Any insights welcome 🙂
