Best tips for getting a video page to rank?

We have a video for our company, located here: http://www.imageworkscreative.com/imageworks-creative-video
It's an overview of our company and the services we offer.
We'd like to get this page ranking, but we haven't had much luck so far. Our Youtube account does better, but I'm looking for some things we can do on or offsite to get this page to rank.
Any tips would be appreciated!

Agreed. We used to have the video on the homepage, and we recently moved it to a page of its own. I do think we should incorporate it into other pages for the best effect.

Thanks - really good tips! I feel like the lack of text is a huge setback, and as a user, I much prefer video transcripts to having to watch a video. I'll start working on these!

I agree with Ryan, having videos embedded throughout the website will not only help support your written content but will increase engagement levels among your users as well.

Hi Jess,
I'd look into embedding the video into other pages on your site versus trying to get a standalone page to rank highly. It's a value add in your proposition so why not integrate it into your home page scroll in a spot that makes the most sense when you're telling your story? Even if you get this page to rank well, other pages are going to be getting traffic so the embed strategy works in the near and long term.

I suggest considering the following for your page:

Add in an h1 tag - currently, it is missing from the page and it is an important on-page ranking factor

Add a transcript of the video

This can add a lot of content and structure to the page (more headings). It also improves usability, there are many people out there that prefer to read through a transcript rather than sit through a video.

Wrap your video and its pertinent details in the proper Schema data

Create a video sitemap
These should help you increase the ranks and fill out those video pages.

If a page ranks in the wrong country and is redirected, does that problem pass to the new page?
Hi guys, I'm having a weird problem: A new multilingual site was launched about 2 months ago. It has correct hreflang tags and Geo targetting in GSC for every language version. We redirected some relevant pages (with good PA) from another website of our client's. It turned out that the pages were not ranking in the correct country markets (for example, the en-gb page ranking in the USA). The pages from our site seem to have the same problem. Do you think they inherited it due to the redirects? Is it possible that Google will sort things out over some time, given the fact that the new pages have correct hreflangs? Is there stuff we could do to help ranking in the correct country markets?

May integrating my main category page in the index page improve my ranking of main category keyword?

A search for main category keyword returns our root domain index page in google, not the category page.

We are switching our CMS local pages from a subdomain approach to a subfolder approach. What's the best way to handle this? Should we redirect every local subdomain page to its new subfolder page?
We are looking to create a new subfolder approach within our website versus our current subdomain approach. "No index" page still shows in search results and paginated pages shows page 2 in results
I have "no index, follow" on some pages, which I set 2 weeks ago. Today I see one of these pages showing in Google Search Results. I am using rel=next prev on pages, yet Page 2 of a string of pages showed up in results before Page 1. What could be the issue?

Is it best to condense 2 similar category pages?
After reading Rand's great article about building Seo focused pages to serve topics, not keywords (http://moz.com/blog/topics-people-over-keywords-rankings-whiteboard-friday ) I started looking at my site. Question: I have 2 very similar category pages, orginally built to go after similar but different keyword terms. For example, one is: domain.com/blue-rings.html and the other is domain.com/blue-bands.com. (bridal jewelry) "Blue" is just a hypothetical type. At one time I could rank for "blue-rings" and "blue-bands". But with google changes, I think it's better to focus on a general term, right? Not set up similar pages, with same product, for very similar keywords. I'm thinking that having these 2 pages could be actually hurting, as they are competing with each other. Any recommendations?
