Moz shows duplicate content, but URL's are tagged with campaign tags
-
Crawl diagnostics shows a lot of pages with duplicate content, but when I check the details, I see that it lists the same page but the url contains a campaign tag, so it's not really another page that is serving identical content...
Is there a way to remove these pages out of the Crawl Diagnostics?

Hey Joris,
I'm afraid that we aren't able to see what parameters you are adding to GWT, since we don't use that information in any way to crawl your site. We conduct a proprietary crawl of the site and report on exactly what your source code and server respond with.
Patrick is right that adding the canonical tags to your site (or using the robots.txt file to block the campaign pages) would clear up those errors in our crawler.
Since some dynamic URL generators can cause problems for crawlers, we do try to be overly-inclusive of these issues. We want people to know about potential issues with sites, even if they're not really issues in the scheme of the site owner's specific SEO implementation plan. In sum, we'd rather leave those judgments up to you. I hope this helps explain our thinking here!

Hi there
Well the canonical tag would help Moz understand that this page isn't duplicate, that's why I mentioned that tactic.
As far as Search Console, I was just trying to help get you other angles covered.
I would try canonical tags and see how that goes over on your next report.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks,
I already added the URL parameters in GWT but it's the duplicate content that is appearing in my MOZ reports because of those tags.
No way to exclude them of MOZ? Imagine you have a page that and a lot of tagged links pointing towards that page, it's gonna list all those tagged links in the duplicate content report.

Hi there
Campaign tags don't signal unique content. It's essentially the same concept as...
http://www.example.com
http://example.comBoth are two different URLs but have the same content, thus making it duplicate content, even though it's technically the same page.
What you can do is take a look into your canonical tags and make sure those are upto date and correct. You can also look into categorizing your parameters, letting crawlers know how to handle this content. Both of these resources will help with your duplicate content issue.
Yoast has a great resource as well for common causes and solutions to duplicate content.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Duplicate Page Content on pages that appear to be different?
Hi Everyone! My name's Ross, and I work at CHARGED.fm. I worked with Luke, who has asked quite a few questions here, but he has since moved on to a new adventure. So I am trying to step into his role. I am very much a beginner in SEO, so I'm trying to learn a lot of this on the fly, and bear with me if this is something simple. In our latest MOZ Crawl, over 28K high priority issues were detected, and they are all Duplicate Page Content issues. However, when looking at the issues laid out, the examples that it gives for "Duplicate URLs" under each individual issue appear to be completely different pages. They have different page titles, different descriptions, etc. Here's an example. For "LPGA Tickets", it is giving 19 Duplicate URLs. Here are a couple it lists when you expand those:
Moz Pro | | keL.A.xT.o
http://www.charged.fm/one-thousand-one-nights-tickets
http://www.charged.fm/trash-inferno-tickets
http://www.charged.fm/mylan-wtt-smash-hits-tickets
http://www.charged.fm/mickey-thomas-tickets Internally, one reason we thought this might be happening is that even though the pages themselves are different, the structure is completely similar, especially if there are no events listed or if there isn't any content in the News/About sections. We are going to try and noindex pages that don't have events/new content on them as a temporary fix, but is there possibly a different underlying issue somewhere that would cause all of these duplicate page content issues to begin appearing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!0 -

Why doesn't OSE show results from sites like Wikipedia, YouTube, Twitter, etc.?
I know OSE used to provide link data from these domains. But I have been doing link profile lookups on sites that I know have links from these domains - and they don't show up in my results. Just to make sure, they don't even show up when I sort the sites by domain authority.

What's the best practice for tracking broad match traffic?
We use the Pro Web App for our keyword/ranking reporting. First, am I correct in assuming that this uses exact match to report the traffic? That being the case, is there a way in Moz (beyond entering endless permutations of our targeted keywords) to track traffic we're getting out of broad match searches? For example, say we optimized for and are tracking the keyword "lambada dancing llamas" for a company called Llarry's Llamas. Let's say that Moz reports little to no traffic for that keyword, but GoogleAnalytics indicates that we've gotten traffic from "larrys dancing llamas", "dancing llamas", "llarry llamas" and so on. So, obviously we're getting broad match traffic out of the lambada llamas, just not a lot of exact match, which is all that the Moz app shows. How do other people track this kind of traffic?
