Do you need contact details (NAP) on every page of your website for local search ranking ?

We’ve got a clients site which doesn't have the contact details on every page, all the contact details are on the /contact page which is using the schema.org local business markup
Some sites that our outranking us locally have their contact details on all pages, where as others only have it on the contact page also.
Is having your contact details on every page a ranking factor for local search ?

Hey Mike!
You've received great feedback from the community here (nice job, everybody!). While it's not a requirement to have complete NAP on every page, it is a best practice. I see these 3 options open to you:

Convince the client to go with a more normal layout. If you can, put complete NAP in the footer.

If no dice on that, put it in the masthead.

And if that won't work, you could certainly put it at the bottom of the main body of the pages, incorporating it into your call to action.

If there's no footer, why not at the top of the page. Something along the lines of "Located at the intersection of street and road in the center of Town" with a nice, obvious Click to Call?

Laura is right "they are sacrificing increased sales and UX to aesthetics" Customers that want "Pretty" over Marketable are impossible to please. IF you are somehow able to accomplish this task, that customer will expect you to deliver on every unimaginable request.
I have left campaigns do to this refusal to "bend" for reasonable results.

Ugh. I can't really speak to your precise issue without the URL, but it's possible they are sacrificing increased sales and UX to aesthetics. If they won't budge, you'll have to work harder to improve local search performance in other areas like off-site business citations and reviews.

Thanks for the response Laura, the reason the client dosnt want to put in on every page is that the site is a fullscreen website so dosnt have a footer, and thus no obvious place to put the contact details on each page, but if it could provide a ranking boost, we could convince them to consider it

If you are targeting local customers, you probably want to put the contact information on every page for the sake of users regardless of whether or not you need it for the search engines. Why does your client not want to put it on every page, even if it's just in the footer?
Aside from usability concerns, having the address on the page is a strong signal to search engines that you are a "local" business, meaning that you serve local customers.

Should apartment management companies have a separate website for each of their properties?
I work for a company that owns and manages apartments. I would like to know which of the two website design decisions are better from an SEO perspective: One single website that contains pages for all of our apartments. (Example: http://www.equityapartments.com) Separate websites for each apartment and one main corporate website allows users to search through our apartments. (Example: https://www.greystar.com) I have spoken to three marketing companies have all recommended option 2. The best reason I have heard is because then the separate apartments are all more likely to rank. Facebook Locations - Good or Bad for Local Rankings?
Our company has multiple (3) offices, including our headquarters, and each has its own Facebook page. Other than the primary company page, the other two locations have only been claimed and do not have posts, reviews, check-ins, etc. Now, Facebook recently granted us access to Facebook Locations, which, if I understand correctly, would remove 2-out-of-3 office pages and add a "Locations" tab to our primary company page where people can see the other offices. _See Starbucks Example: https://www.facebook.com/pg/Starbucks/locations/?ref=page_internal _ I've read mixed reviews regarding using the Locations feature, but nothing definitively answers whether or not this would negatively affect local rankings. Does anyone have firsthand experience going from individual business pages to a single parent business page with Locations? Is there any trustworthy documentation out there about this?

Google Local Storefront or Google Service Area?
We have been seeing some strange things happen in Google local after the most recent update. We used to show up in the maps all the time and have made no major edits or changes to the profile. Now when we search for our services, we show up high in the organic results, and not at all in maps (local listings). We have our profile setup as a service area since we do meet with people and provide services at their location, but also have checked the option that we also serve people at our address. I am wondering if the recent update favors actual storefronts when people are searching for services. Any ideas? Technically all the actual work is provided at our location, and the service we provide at the service area locations is based upon consultations. If we switched it to an actual storefront listing could that possibly help? Our profile is fairly strong, and has reviews, long history of posts, etc. What gives Google?

Should I change my local listing Service type from Brick and Mortar to Service Area in Google? And will it affect my ranking in a negative manner?
Currently my company Big Boy Bail Bonds, Inc is ranking very well for the city it is located and, currently service type is brick and mortar. But my Company does not only service people at our location but we service the entire county of Los Angeles. And I wanted to know if you would advise me on weather I should change the service type from brick and morter to service area. and if doing that would effect me in a negative manner when it came to my ranking? Why is the incorrect city name being appended to search results when that search is done from a completely different city? Screenshot Included
Hi Guys, This is weird. When searching "generator rentals" from within Vancouver/Lower Mainland and on a mobile device, our organic listing is ranked #1. That is the good news. The bad news is that for some reason the title returend is: Generator Rentals & Temporary Power Distribution - Edmonton". The "-Edmonton" is dynamically added, but I have no idea why. Edmonton is in a completely different province than Vancouver... over 720 miles apart. The only thing I can think of is that there is some sort conflict with our Google places account. You see, we do have an Edmonton branch. I have setup two branches... one for the Coquitlam/Vancouver branch and one for the Edmonton. And as far as I can tell, both are setup correctly. Bright Local - Citation Burst. Winner or Loser?
Bright Local have a package called "Citation Burst." This looks great but, we all know directory submissions can have an extremely negative impact. Has anyone used Bright Local for Citation Burst, please let me know? Thanks Gary

PO Box for a Local Client
I have a local client who is adamant about not publishing their address anywhere online. They are a local (regional) company, and work out of their home. I advised that PO boxes do not fill within "accurate guidelines" for Google Places (and moving forward any citation building is going to be tough). Any way to get around this besides buying a generic mailbox that isn't a PO Box? They feel putting their home address anywhere leaves them vulnerable to people showing up at their home, and considering the industry they are in, it is possible this could lead to negative confrontations and I understand their concern. Any ideas for me?
