Best Keyword Research Tool / Strategy / Approach?
-
Currently, I list every root word (one word) I can think of for the client. Then start a 2 word keyword section, making every possible connection with my root words. Then move to 3 word, 4 word, and so on. I do this all in a word document and by hand. Does anybody have ANYTHING (tool/strategy) that does something similar? I'm looking for anything that can expedite this process. My manual method makes me feel like I'm always forgetting certain combinations of words.

Here is a similar Q and A that I wrote a response to suggesting 4 tools which I have found immensely useful. Market Samurai also has some video tutorials that teach a really good strategy for finding great keywords.

What place does plural versions of keywords have in keyword research?
Working on doing a massive keyword research project for my sites, one of the things I am trying to figure out is if I should be including plural versions of keywords. For example, should you include yoga mat as well as yoga mats?

Focus Keyword
Hi, I have 2 doubts regarding keywords SEO optimization. 1. I would like to optimize the keyword "liquidation channel". The thing is, in my copy/page title/URL/etc it doesn't make a lot of sense to use this exact keyword, but rather "liquidation channels", in plural. Will I rank higher for liquidation channel anyway? And if so, to which extent? (e.g. about 70%...?) 2. I would like to optimize the homepage for the word "liquidation", but found out that some combinations using this keyword (like "liquidation sales" or "liquidation auctions") would have higher traffic and might work better for some pages. I understand I would still be ranking higher for the keyword liquidation, but to which extent? If it's 100% because the keyword is always included, does it makes sense to use 1-word keywords or should we always focus on multiple word keywords? Would the same apply for 2-words keywords vs 3-words keywords, like "wholesale liquidation" SEO rankings being applied when optimizing "wholesale liquidation sales"? Thank you,

What is the best way to do a one time rankings check of 10000+ keywords
Title pretty much sums it up. At the pricing moz offers this is not practical. Even at their highest tier i would only get 3700 keywords, so it would take several months to get the results.

How do I use two keywords?
Hello! I am ranking very well with a keyword. But that same keyword without an S at the end (making it singural) gets quite a few more searches per month according to Google's Keyword Tool. However, dropping the S just doesn't sound quite right or make as much sense. So how can I target both keywords? Thanks in advance!

I'm the copy writer for a marketing firm, who is doing the SEO work for a website that sells wholesale Disney apparel. I was recently asked to rewrite their homepage blurb, as it was all over the place. However, one thing I'm wondering is if you guys felt the various Disney keyword combinations (IE: Disney Beach Towels, Disney Mugs, Disney Travel Mugs, etc) were necessary for SEO purposes? Or, if they would be considered keyword stuffing? I thought they seemed pretty spammy, but I just wanted to run it by you guys and get your thoughts. Both versions are below. Thanks! Should I be optimizing for Keywords that we already rank for?
When selecting which Keywords to optimize for, should I choose all words that I want us to move up for? Like that my company appears ranked for 5, 10, 42, 44, etc.? Or should I select a mix of some that rank well (top 1-2 pgs in Google) /rank near pg 5/ and some that aren't showing up in the top 50 yet? I don't want to waste my time optimizing for words I don't need to. Thanks!

How do you do Keyword Research for a company that creates a lot of content
I work for a media company that owns 4 magazines. Our company is constantly producing new content. How do you do Keyword Research when the subject of your content is constantly changing? Do you need to do Keyword Research or do you simply optimize every article that you write for the web? Any ideas?
